I have to admit that the food in Maui is generally pretty awful and the restaurants are often quite unpleasant. The food at Fat Daddy's turned out to be pretty good and the restaurant was comfortable (though noisy). We ordered ribs and brisket, and Brussel sprouts, zucchini and corn bread as sides, all 0f which were excellent. I don't think this is the world's best BBQ, but after a number of really bad meals, we were happy to get a fairly good one. Also, food prices were lower than most places. They seem to make their money from alcoholic drinks, so they seem to keep the food prices on the low end (for Maui).

This food truck is located behind the Azeka mall. The food is so good and the plates are huge. We loved the tacos and the calypso burger. And the service was excellent. Too bad we discovered this place at the end of our vacation otherwise we would have eaten at this place many times because the value for the quality and quantity is excellent.

They are set up in front of the little church at the north end of South Kihei Road every Wednesday and Saturday - just watch for the wood smoke coming up from the cooking. We had driven by them for several years but had never stopped, until they were recommended by a friend. We should have stopped long ago, as their food is outstanding. There is a variety of plate combos with chicken and/or ribs. We stopped and bought a half rack of ribs, then hurried back to our condo. Even slightly cooled off from the journey, the ribs were excellent - not fall off the bone soggy tender, but just the right well cooked texture, and so very flavourful. We were concerned they might be overly smokey from the wood fire, but they were just right. Our first stop their, but definitely not our last.

As Chinese, the chinese food is still top choice when possible. We happened to come to this restaurant which just right beside the kalama park, one of most beautiful beach in Kihei. The dish is large, decent, and place is cozy. Staff is very nice and friendly. where we really enjoy to sit on open space where can see beach and people walk around. The price is very cheap. only half than other more expensive Chinese restaurant. recommend: BBQ beef, won-ton noodle soup.
