We stayed at the Inn at Kettleboro (an exceptional Bed&Breakfast in New Paltz), and they directed us to this little gem of a place in town--a tiny beer and wine place in the Marketplace--which has little foodie places, shops, art dealers--a real pleasure. They have a wide array of choices considering how tiny it is and also delicious homemade soups from a local caterer--perfect for a chilly day. When the weather is warmer--all these tiny shops open their doors and it has an outdoor marketplace feel like in European towns. Enjoy!

The Parish Restaurant & Bar

A restaurant for everyone with an emphasis on New Orleans style cuisine with the best view in town and a friendly upbeat vibe.

We stopped in for a very late lunch and discovered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer. Finally, I can convince myself that their is a healthy alternative to buffalo wings. We had a terrific lunch- my Creole stir fry was also very healthy. The restaurant is a really nice space. We stayed inside in the AC because of the humidity, but the deck looks like a wonderful space when the weather permits.

Huckleberry

I specifically chose Huckleberry because they had a menu marked with several gluten-free items (including french fries, the holy grail for those of us with Celiac). However upon deeper questioning it was revealed that almost every “gf” item listed would actually be cross contaminated in their mixed-use fryer. Disappointing (but typical). I was able to find a suitable and safe meal, and it was fine (but not spectacular). I also ordered a hot toddy, which failed to arrive until I reminded the server, who apologized and then served me a “cold” toddy. When I brought this to her attention she apologized and returned 5 minutes later with the correct drink (and comped it). The three other diners at my table enjoyed their various dishes and mocktails. Bottom line, the cozy place is better for those who can eat gluten.

Pierogies. Made fresh by a local lady and brought in and pan fried. If you don't order these, you will not have a good meal here. Overall I think the restaurant menu has some issues - It's not a pure german restaurant - the theme is lost a bit. BUT if you order the german themed food, you will be in for a treat. My husband ordered the waffle and chicken sandwich with siracha and maple syrup - the waffles were the "buns" and he said it was AMAZING. The beer and cocktail lists were great. But once again. Just order the pierogies... you won't regret it.

Enjoyed our lunch here recently..interesting pub with lots of character. THe food choices were large and good portions of tasty food at good prices. The staff was friendly and helpful..although service at our table was pretty slow...to be honest we had to prompt our waitress a few times to bring out things we had ordered....Since we were in no hurry..that didnt really bother us ..and she was generally pretty friendly...I was a fun place to have a long lunch with the family. There was a huge beer list..but prices were a little on the high end..for what i expected Overall we did enjoy our meal and would definitely return again...

Right next to the Hampton Inn. Recommended by the hotel and we were not disappointed. Excellent food and service. Our server Victoria was attentive (but not overly so) and provided great recommendations. My husband had the skirt steak and I had NY Strip. Both were beautifully presented, with substantial portions and delicious. The truffle fries were to die for. Good cocktails, wine and bread.

Located on the main street in downtown New Paltz, in an historic old building that's been redone and expanded while still retaining a cozy pub vibe. Great food and beer in a sports bar, pub setting. Extensive menu, from sandwiches, burgers, dinner entrees, nice appetizers, salads. Entrees run the gamut from steaks, pasta, seafood, chicken - great selection. Nice beer, wine, and cocktail selections. Large portions, couldn't eat it all and they happily provided take home containers. Our server was very friendly and professional. Second visit, and we'll return if ever in New Paltz again.
