Was on my way home from newburgh airport and stopped for dinner. Very pleasant surprise. Greeted immediately by friendly owner and waiter. Seated and greeted. Great martini, ok bread. It was healthy. Had the ribeye steak and mashed potatoes. Perfect. Wife had chicken and mushrooms over pasta. Delicious. No dessert and reasonable. Its a keeper.

A Tavola Trattoria

Reviewed By Wtrav77 - Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania

We have ate there a couple times. This is a very popular restaurant, and not very large, so reservations are essential. The menu has some interesting combinations, which not everyone will like, but our group of 6 all found something that we liked. There is also a good beer and wine list. Servers were freindly and effiicient. Note thta because of the size, it is a bit noisy. Tables at the front of the restaurant on both floors have a view onto main street. All in all, a good experience in one of the better restaurants in New Paltz.

Three salads were alll awesome. A medium is quite large. I child eat healthy everyday if the salad was this good. My son's lobster club was great. He loved the Salmon bacon. Avocado on each meal was so fresh. Drinks were different and delicious. Smoothie was favorite. Then we all got a dessert to go for the ride home!! Way better choice for dinner than the thruway service area.

A dandy little seafood joint in a strip mall in a town with a number of good restaurants. Portions are generous, the food is well prepared, and the prices are eminently reasonable. If you find yourself in New Paltz, and oddly enough everyone does sooner or later, this is worth a try.

Mohonk Mountain House

Reviewed By Piermontpete - Piermont, New York

Came late December on a day pass. It was our forty-ninth wedding anniversary and we were expecting to have a fun time at the resort. The grounds are beautiful, the house tour was interesting and the greenhouse exceptional. The only problem was the meal. We were seated promptly at 12:30 and tried the potato leek soup which was very good. The rest of the meal had issues. I didn't expect to see two stations with chicken, mashed potatoes and squash which was very spicy. The carving station of fish and beef were okay but very salty. Much of the side dishes had prosciutto such as mozzarella and prosciutto on a skewer, prosciutto and something slider and other sides. The pasta was made with pork. What about us folks that don't eat pork products. My wife is very sensitive to spices and she had difficulty eating most foods because it was spicy and very salty. She finally asked the waiter if she could have a plain piece of salmon and baked potato and he went to have it prepared. When the dish finally arrived that salmon was hard as a rock. It looked like it was frozen fish from Costco. The baked potato was good however. The desserts were okay nothing to rave about. I would think that the brunch would be good because its hard to mess up an omelet or pancakes. We were at the resort twenty years ago for a wedding and the food hasn't changed much. Maybe we'll try again in another twenty.

This was our favorite place years ago. But unfortunately, it has changed for the worst! Teriyaki chicken was burnt; the cucumber salad was overly sweet; the house salad came with the worst ginger dressing I ever tasted: it was very liquidy, with a mayonnaise like base, and a lot of sugar in it. We shall not come back.

Mexican, tacos, burrittos, all fresh never frozen no cans

Reviewed By Temaqueria

This tiny, healthy burrito and taco joint is not your standard Mexican faire. They use no canned products. Everything is incredibly fresh and they make all their own hot sauces. If you are looking for traditional Mexican, this is not it. We usually call ahead and do take out because the place only has 6 seats.
