McKinleyville is located 5.25 miles (8.4 km) north of Arcata, at an elevation of 141 feet (43 m). The population was 15,177 at the 2010 census, up from 13,599 at the 2000 census. This unincorporated community is the third largest community, after Eureka and Arcata, on the far North Coast and larger than five of seven cities in the county. It is also the location of the Arcata-Eureka Airport, the largest airport in Humboldt County and the region.

I really liked this place. I loved the ambiance, the clientele, the beer. I felt like I had gone back in time when I stopped here for a beer. Lots of fantastic beers, lots of tables, plenty of knowledgeable staff. I could have sat there all day. It is, clearly, and institution. The only thing I wasn't too fussed about was the food. I mean, I only ordered a half portion of garlic fries (which was enormous) but it was huge and a bit too garlicky for me. That is the worst thing I can say about the place, though. Don't miss out on this gem. Wish there were more places around like this!

We didn't eat here but we did get a beer and watch a movie. It was a small theatre but the seats were comfy and it sure was fun drinking a beer at the movie. Loved this place.

We had a big, eclectic group, which was well-served by the big, eclectic menu. We all walked away full and satisfied. For an establishment that projects such a dive image we were very happily impressed by the food and service.My daughter is a local and loves this place. We visited on the Monday late morning after the graduation weekend and there were only 3 or so other parties in the place, so our service was pretty fast even though we had a group of 8.

From being greeted when walking in the door until the time we left, everything was perfect. Our server, Gage, was very attentive yet allowed us the time we needed without rushing us through our meal. He was very personable and knowledgeable. He gave us excellent advice as we made our selections. The food was phenomenal! We all enjoyed our dinner. (Party of 5). I definitely recommend the Poutine duck appetizer! The steaks were perfectly cooked and wonderful flavors. The vegetarian in our group loved the Sope, and my chicken was great as well. Gage made the experience great and the kitchen staff are obviously quite talented. Hats off to the chef.

Stopped in because it was ranked high on Trip Advisor and it didn't disappoint. It has bar seating, high-tops and table seating, so something for everyone. A few TVs scattered throughout and a pool table. Located right in the down-town area. Beer choice was OK, a decent selection. The food, your seemingly typical pub fare, was great. We shared nachos (they make the chips in the restaurant) and their award-winning wings. We saw only a few people working and the place was full. We were impressed with the efficiently of the bartender, waitstaff and kitchen. Would definitely return if we were back in Arcata.

We were seated in immediately upon arrival. Our server was friendly and on top of everything. All staff were friendly and hard working. My Cobb salad was tasty as was the fish dish that my husband ordered. Prices were reasonable. We liked their famous in house biscuits.

This was our second visit here. This time we were driving from Grants Pass to Miranda (Avenue of the Giants). We had their "Wednesday special" Chicken soup and ham sandwich and they were excellent. And the beer is great too! Enjoyed sitting at the bar.
