I do a lot of business travelling and I typically avoid hotel restaurants like the plaque because they're usually overpriced and poor quality. Made an exception at the Embassy Suites with my wife. Had an early supper...crab dip appetizer, cheeseburger, steak sandwich. Didn't get the crabdip until well after the sandwiches arrived..wasn't worth the wait...rubbery cheese, very little crab. My burger was obviously microwaved and flavorless, although the bun was freshly baked. Weird. My wife's potato soup was the best part of the meal, steak sandwich was mediocre. The menu says "Add a side salad or soup for $3"...so I added a side salad in addition to the apple-brocholi slaw. The server later told me that's a substitution, not an addition. I finally mentioned all this to the food and beverage manager, who was super nice and tried to make things right but really? Every thing is way overpriced but the overall ambience of the hotel is great. Hunt Valley Grill is not recommended.

We sat in the outside bar area on a nice Thursday evening. The servers were very friendly and attentive. The beers were cold and the Lobster Roll ($25) was delicious. They put the mayo sauce on the side. Came with boardwalk like fries. Lots of free on site parking.

Overlooked Timonium area lunch spot, great quiet place in May’s Chapel area to grab lunch. Burgers and service were excellent, especially the lamb burger and the more conventional ‘Otto’ burger with cheddar jack, sautéed mushrooms and onions, which arrived perfectly prepared medium. All burgers were advertised as coming with ‘Schwartz’ deli pickles which were especially good and noteworthy. Service was friendly and efficient. Will repeat.

This "sports bar" does have all the TV's one would expect (though none with captions running) so why the dude blaring live music from the 70's? Staff had a hard timing serving a beer and a burger. Took a long time, had to ask for water 3 times. It was not packed to the gills, so I was puzzled. Turkey burger was good. I'd go elsewhere next time (and look at the reviews beforehand).

I previously reviewed Silver Spring Mining Company and gave it a 1/5/ based on a horrible experience there. A group of my friends recently decided to eat here, and I reluctantly joined them. RIPPED OFF AGAIN! The food and service were definitely well below par for an eatery with these prices. Bottom line: Don't go here.

My daughter and I enjoyed a Saturday brunch after leaving a conference site. Although the restaurant was packed and we had to wait approximately 15 minutes for a table, the meal was worth the wait. We shared and thoroughly enjoyed the Brie Stuffed French Toast and Rancher's Benny before boxing the leftovers. Yes, the serving sizes are large, so go hungry. Service was impeccable despite the crowd, and I'm looking forward to introducing my husband to a new favorite place.

My parents and I ate here in early June on the recommendation from my mother’s friend. We made a reservation the day before with ease. There was really no need for our reservation since the restaurant has plenty of seats. The restaurant is pretty huge. The restaurant is decorated with horse racing memorabilia all over. There’s a decent sized patio to eat outside. Our server came over about a minute or so after we were seated. She was friendly and polite. She always checked in on us. The menu is extensive - there’s something for everyone. They have a large specials menu with a nice variety of meals. - Crab Dip appetizer (creamy dip topped with cheddar cheese) served with warm breadsticks, carrots, celery sticks: This was pretty good. It came out piping hot and bubbling. It wasn’t overly cream cheese-y, which was nice. The bread sticks were a little too hard for my liking. The celery and carrots were a nice difference to the normal bread it’s served with.- Side salads: My dad I both ordered a salad as one of our sides. The salads were big and featured greens, cucumbers, halved cherry tomatoes, and croutons. I picked out some lettuce pieces that were brown on the ends, though.- Surf & Turf (5oz jumbo lump crab cake, 7oz sirloin topped with herb butter) with house salad and Yukon Gold mashed potatoes: Asked for the meat to be medium well but it came out well done. My dad thought the steak was seasoned well. He liked the mashed potatoes and the crab cake. The crab cake was jumbo lump as the menu stated, with very little filler (if any at all). - Philly Cheese Steak (half pound of thinly sliced ribeye steak, Philadelphia style hoagie roll, provolone, lettuce, tomato, fried onions) with fries: My mom loved this. The fries were crispy and hot. The cheesesteak was huge. She could only eat half of it. The ribeye was seasoned well and the toppings were fresh.- Fried Chicken Dinner (2 jumbo chicken breasts) with side of mac and cheese: Both chicken breasts were humungous. The menu said “jumbo chicken breasts” and they meant it. I could only eat half of one before getting full. I didn’t like the mac and cheese. It was cooked fine, I just didn’t like the cheese sauce. We had no room for dessert, even though the funnel cake fries were calling my name. The only damper on the evening (that had nothing to do with the restaurant itself) was a party of 10 celebrating a birthday. They were so loud and the little children were running back and forth and screaming their heads off. The mom kept yelling at her children and the entire restaurant kept looking over at them. It was pretty embarrassing and annoying to hear. The restaurant is located in a shopping center of sorts. The Harris Teeter is next door. There are quite a few places to park, but the lot fills up pretty quickly. By the time we left, the only spots left were all the way towards the back.Overall, we will return. We had yummy food, huge portions, and good service.

Pappas Restaurant & Sports Bar Cockeysville

Reviewed By lpMaggi713

The purpose of Restaurant Week is to entice customers to try restaurants. That is exactly what we did. We went to Pappas in Cockeysville; we had visited the Pappas in Parkville but not the one in Cockeysville. We were pleased that they honored my request for a quiet table and sat us in a small, back dining room. Patty, our server, was quick to come over and greet us and welcome us to Pappas. Patty really took excellent care of us – she paid attention to all the details. My husband and I decided to do the Restaurant Week menu; our friends ordered off the regular menu. We started off with the Fried Green Tomatoes Caprese Tower – not much of a tower, it was laid down, but really tasty. I originally ordered the Broiled Rockfish and Crab, but had to send it back as the first few bites had bones in it. Patty very quickly offered me something else. I went with the Ed Block Colossal Courage Crab Cake. It was huge – 10 ounces and very good. My husband ordered the Ribeye – 14 ounces of beef over hash browns topped with a mountain of crispy onions. He had enough crispy onions to share with the table. Our friends split a Double the Pleasure – two of Pappas’s famous crab cakes. We all enjoyed our dinners. For our sweet ending, we shared the Peanut Butter Pie and a Chocolate Mousse Cake. They both were decadent, rich and so satisfying. We will definitely return to Pappas. Thank you for participating in Restaurant Week!Maggi,Thank you for the marvelous feedback. We are overjoyed to hear that you had such a wonderful dining experience with us. We are thrilled to hear that our team provided you with amazing service and Patty was so friendly and attentive. We're glad that you enjoyed your meals and loved our Fried Green Tomatoes Caprese Tower great. We are so happy to hear that you had such a great time with us. We appreciate the lovely review. We hope to see you again soon!
