We always enjoy a trip to Tathra just for dinner at Fat Tonyâs.Itâs ALWAYS delicious, Ant and the team are beyond welcoming and the cocktails are the perfect way to kick off your Fat Tonyâs feast!My husbands highlight is always the Fat Oysters - a must for any seafood lover.If youâre in the vicinity, do yourself a favour.

For a beach cafe, the food is exceptional -- and is very good by any benchmark. We love that it is dog friendly and go several times every December when we are on the Sapphire Coast for two weeks. The owners recognise us (well.. they recognise the dogs!) In December 2018 the daily fish special (with Thai/Asian spices) was incredible. They also did a chicken wing special which wasn't traditional US style wings but was very tasty. I cannot say enough positive things about this cafe. (Be sure to check their website for their schedule as the schedule is seasonal)

My family visited the bistro for dinner 3rd January. Steak, calamari and burgers were nice, bistro quality meals. The fried 'flathead' was truly disgusting and could not be eaten due to its very strong flavour and fishy odour. More disappointing than the fish was the response from the waitress and the chef, who were both rude and indifferent when we let them know the fish was inedible. The chefs only suggestion was that local flathead is a very strong flavoured fish! It was either old fish or not flathead. The waitress gave us a comments card to fill out after the meal. By then it was too late. An apology and a chat about how to fix the issue would have been great, rather than eating a plate of chips for dinner... There's no excuse given the bistros location opposite the wharf. We now understand why the pub was so busy! We won't be back... Thanks for your review Kylie. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience. I have spoken with the Head Chef this morning and discussed what happened. We strive to maintain high standards of customer service and were unable to on this occasion. We hope that you will give us another try on your next visit and have a better experience. Came here for a friends birthday a week ago.... I ordered the pulled beef pizza and it was devine! Others in our party had the duck, chicken and the ribs. Not one person criticised the portions or taste, though one person didn't get the correct order and had to wait another 30 mins to eat (we had all finished eating and same thing happened to me a year ago). No BYO - drinks moderately priced and not a great deal of choice. Prices on par with other high-end eateries in our area.... one last thing of note: try the churro's for dessert (nom, nom, nom)
