Hakata Ikkosha Torrance

Reviewed By Chuang004

A surprised finding. Strongly urged by friends to visit Hakata Ikkosha. We came as first customers on this Saturday morning. (Open at 11AM sharp) Welcomed by a classic Japanese greeting (or “yelling”)! As first customers of the Morning, we could enjoy the “flavored eggs” for free.Ramen could have light taste(less salty) or normal (salty as usual which I don’t favor) and hard noodle texture (my favorite). These “choices” are rarely available in other Ramen restaurants. I love the taste and aroma of Hakata Pork Bones Ramen with flavored hanjuku egg ($7.90). Additional dishes ordered included: Hakata mouthful gyoza (10 pieces for $6.00, each piece was very small, but tasty) and Fried Chicken (3 pieces for $7.00, proper). Their service was responsive and cordial. Its setting: clean, simple and decent. We enjoyed the lunch very much! We’ll be back for more.

You may not get the dazzling surprises we treasure in a locally owned, chef-driven restaurant. But if you can accept a pan Asian American setup belonging to a chain that seems to have stopped renewing, maybe it's your restaurant. The rescue of the sparsely populated restaurant in Del Amo was the bartender-waiter who efficiently and cordially cared for food guests, take out orders and mixing drinks. However, do not dream about a return visit as far as the food is concerned

Gen Korean BBQ House Torrance

This was actually the first Gen location I'd ever been to and I can honestly say...it set the bar pretty high for other locations!Definitely one of the best AYCE Korean BBQ restaurants! This location is big, the ambiance is great, dim blue lighting and spacious. And a little extra something is the candy that they have next to the hostess station. My kids love those little lollipops... lol... Not all Gen locations offer that.Service is always quick, attentive and friendly. We were seated in about 5 minutes and orders taken immediately. All of the marinated meats are seasoned perfectly! The beef bulgogi and Hawaiian steak are a must whenever I visit. Wonderful variety of meats all around! This time we ordered the shrimp which was also very tasty but a lot of work peeling so only ordered it once. This last visit was my husbands first time coming to Gen and he fell in love with this place too!All in all, this is a always a great dining experience! Stop by if you're ever in the mood for some Korean BBQ in Torrance...You wont be disappointed!

I recommend to go there with 4 or more people and order all different kinds to have fun! It is a dream place for Uni lovers!!!

I-naba Japanese Restaurant

Reviewed By itcheetam

The restaurant is located in a strip mall on Hawthorne Blvd and the outside is very tired, but don't let that discouraged you, the inside is clean and simple. Better make reservation because lots of Asians dine there. But for lunch they do not accept reservation. The set lunch or dinner are wonderful, a nice spread with plenty of food, including soup and salad. The tempura is the best of all the japanese restaurants in south Bay, very crispy and not oily because they have the tempura chef there frying at the bar. The service is pretty good, the price is not expansive or cheap, reasonable. We even lost a cell phone in the parking lot and one of the waiter found it up. They were so kind and considerate. Kudo for the food and the service!

This is a small, unassuming sushi bar tucked into a strip mall. Normally I'd steer away from these kind of places, but we went for lunch from work one day, and I was spotted by one of the Sushi Chef's who used to work at another sushi bar I used to frequent.Ask for Taka if you're sitting at the Sushi bar! The Uni here is ALWAYS good, if you like Uni you must try it here! However, ALL of there fish is always fresh and good.

I am from Northern California with access to great dumpling shops and houses in San Francisco. Din Tai Fung definitely made me fill like I was at home. The offerings were amazing! They were artfully crafted, delicate and I couldn't wait to pop each one in my mouth! The veggie and mushroom bun was heaven. The crab and pork bao were to die for, and I absolutely loved the shrimp and pork wontons.
