wot a treat The Spicy Duck was on my last night in Phillip Island.Situated in pretty San Remo, which is more than a bridge n a lunchtime pelican feeding frenzy, I opted for an early dinner to take back to my accommodation. The proprietor was more than happy to entertain my 4:30pm request and whipped up the most delicious beef gai pad grapow (apologies if i got that wrong) with seasonal vegies.Late summer vegie fare w opt in protein: baby corn, crunchy green beans, mushrooms, capsicum, onions, carrot, zucchini and of course chilli and basil. Accompanied by jasmine rice.$20 w a nice $10 bottle of limestone coast chardy from the IGA nearby and i was set for a yummy night in.A quick detour to a lookout on the way home afforded a delightful view. You could picnic w your grapow there if you were organised. Wonderful.

My family decided to give this local business another go, as It appears to have changed hands and has been renamed as the Spicy Duck. Quality of food was poor, prices have increased, our chicken stir fry dish was dry and bland, the green curry lacked depth of flavour and spice and the pork belly was like rubber. Very disappointed as was hoping to finally have some decent Thai food given change of ownership.

Make sure you pick the right time as they cater for the buses that go to the penguins parade. Make sure you are there around sunset as then the buses arrive an hour later. The food is good and tasty and will return. We also order take away which is always good.

Are there this evening (26/5/2018)Service appalling with long wait for courses, one of which didn't arrive and another was the wrong dish. Similar situation with adjacent table, slow service and when food arrived it was inedible - cold and frozen.This establishment doesn't deserve to be in business - probably the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted
