Reviewed By A255QMbriandWe had a pleasant and wonderful stay at Eskala during the Thingyan Holidays. We stayed in one of the sea view villa with a fantastic view of the ocean. The resort has a wide and clean beach front which is not crowded. And the life guards will always approach on site whenever we are in the water. That's a plus for safety especially I'm with 2 kids. Food is superb and service at the dining hall is fast and efficient. My only comment is there are limited options in their food ala cart menu. But the daily buffet breakfast is awesome. The resort grounds and facilities are well maintained and the pool is picture perfect. The noise from people eating and drinking in the beside room balcony during night time can be heard in our room which is a bit annoying especially if you would like to have a nice relaxing sleep. And I hope hotel management can do their regular rounds and call attention of noisy guests. Long drive from Yangon is worth it. We will definitely come back.

Huge hotel compound and long beach front are able to accommodate all types of activities from water sports to beach parties. Hotel staff are friendly and they will greet you with innocent smiles saying "Mingalabar" every time they meet you. They are also very competent, experienced and professional in serving large groups of guests in all aspects, including catering, housekeeping, event set up, and so on. Newly opened "Surf Point Bar & Restaurant", located within the hotel compound, is also a must-go-place to chill and enjoy your evenings while you are in Ngwe Saung. NSYC is only 5-hours away from Yangon and it is a great place to escape the super busy and crowded commercial capital. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By Scenic10378336378A relative planned the trip and if it were me, I would have never booked this hotel. The bathroom ceiling leaked when it rains in the room i stayed. The room was dusty and smelled like mold. There actually was mold on furnitures. Breakfast was cold. Their reason for every thing was “we just reopened so there will be some issues in most rooms”. Have stayed at multiple hotels in ngwe saung but this was the worst one so far. This was just the room I stayed in. A/C wasn’t cold in my brother’s room, the tap water was brown. The wifi was terrible.

Don’t expect a posh hotel, this place is down to earth and that is just the way it should be. Nevertheless the food is amazing and the cocktails are always on happy hour prices and the staff is super friendly. Do fresh up your ping pong skills as you will need them to beat the wonderful host Mariangela. If you are a bit skilled on a motorcycle I highly recommend the motorcycle tour that will take you over river crossing ferry’s and the beach. I love to be back there!

We were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded from a room with no windows to a room with windows and a balcony, no added costs. 3. The service that Jeffrey and Tun Tun (managers of the hotel) offer is exceptional. They go above and beyond to make sure their guests are happy and comfortable. They recommend beaches/restaurants to visit during our stay. They even accommodated us with a Western style breakfast with a hint of traditional Myanmar food. Jeffrey and Tun Tun also helped us reach a beautiful beach that is about 45 minutes from the hotel, again at a very reasonable price. 4. The hotel is located near walking distance from the beach, several restaurants, and ATMS. There’s an Italian restaurant 2-4 minutes from the hotel (walking) that is a must try. The food that Magda makes is mouthwatering!! 5. Finally the hotel has RELIABLE and FAST WiFi. Even though Chaung Tha doesn’t have electricity during the day you can always count on the WiFi working. Regarding the electricity, Alliance Hotel is one of the handful of hotels that has electricity during the day (only for a couple of hours- this goes a long way). Thank you to Jeffrey, Tun Tun and the Alliance staff for making my stay in Chaung Tha incredibly memorable!

Hill Top Resort is a bungalow with sea and lush garden views. Free parking and free WiFi is available. The beach and Lover Island is just a 2-minute stroll away from the property. All rooms at the resort are fitted with a seating area, a fan and a mosquito net. Rooms are complete with a private bathroom fitted with a shower.

I rented a scooter from the owner and when we agreed on a price, suddenly he asked for more money (which I didn’t agree with). The owner was helpful for the rest but I wouldn’t recommend this place.
