Our family entered this restaurant at 6 PM on a Wednesday evening. We waited for a few moments to be seated. Then it took about ten minutes for a drink order. We ordered two sodas and a water. The waiter came back with two waters. It took three requests for a straw. We finally ordered food. It was about 40 minutes from the time we entered until it arrived...well some of it. We had ordered a salad but it took so long we told a waitress to tell our waiter to cancel it. He must have apologized a dozen times for his mistakes saying he hadn’t slept recently. He asked a waitress to bring us our bill. This was the first time in years I left no tip. I will not go back.We sincerely apologize about the service as this is not our standard here by any means. Our manager has taken necessary steps to prevent this from happening. We hope you enjoyed the food and will give us another chance! Have a good day!

Beaver Choice

The food here is delicious - they have an extensive and varied menu with Polish, Scandinavian, German, and other specialties. Everything is made from scratch, from the owners recipes (which she will gladly share with you, as she told us). Our table ordered pork schnitzel, pork schnitzel cordon bleu, chicken schnitzel parmesan, and a pierogi plate and everyone was full and happy by the end of the meal. There is an interesting and unusual selection of international beers and wines. For dessert we ordered lemon fluff and the Beaver Supreme, both delicious and a little different than what you might see on most restaurant dessert menus.Service is very casual and friendly; the owner is chatty and sometimes everyone is busy in the kitchen (they were down a cook the night we were there). If you need something you may have to get up and track down someone to help you. We had to ask for our water glasses to be refilled. If you are not okay with an informal atmosphere, be warned. We actually thought it added to the experience -- the owner was going around to all the tables talking about a new schnitzel press she had ordered that was arriving soon, and showing a video on her phone about how it worked. The menu can be confusing, as there is a cash price and a credit card price. Basically, the business is encouraging cash payments because the credit card companies charge a fee per transaction (so the restaurant is passing that cost to the customer paying by card). We were aware of this in advance and still paid by card, not a big deal but I can see how it might be confusing. Also, there is a flat service charge added to the bill, no tipping allowed. This probably throws many Americans for a loop as it's really unusual here, but this is very common in Europe and actually makes it very easy when the bill comes because service is included in the total. This place is a real find -- it's a long drive from our house, but the excellent food was really worth it. We will definitely be back!
