Nice hotel in small fishing town

I stayed for 2 nights here as part of a bigger tour around Madeira. The hotel has a very modern looking lobby area where check in was quick and efficient for a large group of us. The room, overlooking a fairly bland car park was within keeping with the rest of the hotel. Modern furnitire and tastefully decorated. Nice, comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom with perhaps the slowest bath in all of Madeira. Breakfast was adeqtae rather than special, but enough to give you a good start to the day. With limited options in Porto Moniz, this is definitely worth checking out.

I spent my new year's holiday here. Overall it was a good experience Pros: * rooms were very clean * very friendly and helpful staff. Whatever I needed, I got it (borrow a hairdryer, call a cab,...) Cons: * faint scent of dampness, mould or somesuch * breakfast was mildly boring, could do with more choice

Great spot if you come to see the natural pools. Free admission. Great views from the rooftop pool of the dramatic landscape. Overall good value. However, there’s not much to do in town so we kinda regret not making this a day trip. But can’t complain about the accommodations. Highly recommend if you wanna stay in the area.

Residencial Atlantico

Better value than many at twice the price

Reviewed By eatsmakelijk

Arriving unplanned in the wild west of Madeira, a quick search revealed this as easily the best value in town. Porto Moniz is a unique and rather dramatic location and the Atlantico Residential or, as one (big, greedy) booking agency has it: "Alojamento Local Atlantico" which will do little to commend it to most potential guests. Fear not, the incredibly charming propeietor will soon probide you with a room which really lacks for none of the essentials you might expect in a four star. Rooms are spacious, newly decorated with a traditional look, in fine, (real) wood and offer either qjiet, private views of a sunlit garden or the drama of the North Coast mountains, stretching out before you over almost the entire length of the island. Either stopping over on an island circuit or landing at the end of the legendary Ribeira do Janela levada hike, if you find yourself in Porto Moniz and want value for your money, this is my recommendation.

Costa Azul

Large appartement with huge terrace! Great location.

Reviewed By JonasenMarleenV

With 6 persons we booked the compete top floor (2 bedrooms with 5 beds and an extra (good!) bed in the living room. Two of the beds were a bit hard. The owners were very communicative and friendly. Obrigado João! Quick and good respons to all our questions. Nice gastronomic surprises included. The location is excellent; a 2 minute walk to one of the natural baths and all restaurant, 1 minute to the supermarket. We could use the washing machine extensively, without costs, which was pleasant. Kitchen is well equipped. Price was very reasonable, great value. It's a very quiet village after all the day-trippers leave, which we loved. At night the only thing you hear is the ocean and the wind.

Pensao Fernandes

Reviewed By annettbassow
