We had planned on getting spa treatments at the resort spa, but they closed due to COVID. The hotel recommended Spa Baan Suerte. When our first day on the island turned to a downpour, I thought I'd get a pedicure early (we planned for massages after all our diving). They got me in that afternoon and Tim, the owner, even provided transportation. Marla was my technician, she was fabulous and did a great pedicure. Mariela, the general manager, brought me a glass of wine and water, and made sure our massage/facial appointment for the next week was ready to go. The environment is so peaceful and calm. It's a true spa experience! I'm glad I get to return before leaving. Thank you!

Roatan Institute for Marine Sciences - Anthony's Key Resort

The Roatan Institute for Marine Science (RIMS) is ideally located for marine study on the northwest coast of Roatan where over 30 miles of fringing and barrier reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves and shoreline are home to an astonishing profusion of life. Founded in 1989, the primary objective of this facility is the preservation of Roatan's natural resources through education and research. In the past decade RIMS has established itself as a dedicated teaching institution. Our facility is visited year-round by colleges, universities and high schools from abroad to study tropical marine ecosystems and the bottlenose dolphins we house at our facility. Many programs are for academic credit, some are in conjunction with other field research stations, and others are simply introductory courses to the ecology of coral reefs in the Caribbean.

Being fortunate to have experienced dolphin encounters in various locations, I was excited to go to the next level with the Swim and Snorkel package. IT WAS GREAT! After starting with 30 minutes of what I'd consider a typical dolphin experience (touch, get a kiss, photo opp, some trickst) we progressed to another 30 minutes swimming with a large group of dolphins - even including a mother with her young. Considering we learned these dolphins are in the 400+ pound range, it was an experience I can't even fully describe - filled with awe as they would approach us in small groups, or one-on-one. Our guide was experienced (12 years) and both fun and educational. Due to the decline in tourism we also benefited from being in a very small group for a wonderful, personalized experience - my party of 3 and 3 others. Now is the time to come support the island and experience this for yourself - you won't be disappointed!

Sandy Bay Beach

The property is unique to Roatan. Just off the main road to a private beach area. This area is part of the Roatan Marine Park preserve. The reef system parallels the white sand beach of Sandy Bay The closiest swim to a underwater ecologial paradise teaming with tropical fish and corals. This area is a quiet tranquil area of Roatan without high end hotels and condos but close to the tourist meccas.
