Weekend away

I am writing this review after giving management a chance to answer some of my queries. I wrote to them on the 2nd May and as yet have not had any communication from them. We were very disappointed in our accommodation. Our unit was very "tired" and it is the little things that are noticed. The clock on the wall did not work, two plates on the stove did not work, the only container for the microwave did not fit in the microwave. We also felt that we were in backpackers accommodation as kitchen utensils were a mismatch of things. Very easy to buy matching sets these days. Whilst the unit was clean the level of build up of the "disinfectant" spray was disconcerting. This was very evident when we went to move the coffee table and it took two of us to "unstick" if from the floor, very obviously not been moved for some time but plenty of spray used. As we were on a balcony unit it would also have been very easy to clean the windows which were filthy. I am afraid to say I would not recommend the tower units to anyone.

Natural habitat and serene location resort

Spent a week at this resort. Great geographical location few minutes from Hobart Airport. It is build next to a pine forest natural reserve and Seven Miles Beaches just across the road. Morning walk was a bliss with plenty walking route options. I am surprised by how many wild lives living around, inside and around the resort. I counted many species of birds, wallabies, pandemelon, rabbits, local hens, to name a few. Beautiful landscape walkways and well layout and spacious accommodations with full kitchen facilities. Kids loved the hobby farm feeding of alcapas, cows, goats and particularly the biking experience through the pine forest. Overall a nice stay for entire family.

We stayed here by private arrangement in October 2016 but as others have said this accommodation is now essentially closed to casual travelers. Both the swimming pool and restaurant are shut up but the unit we were able to book through a local real estate agent was very spacious and great value for money. We believe bookings can also be made through airbnb. There are some lovely alternative eating spots in Bridport as well as at the nearby world renowned golf course (Barnbougle Dunes). And Bridport itself is really lovely with beautiful beaches, great fishing, and a 10+km walking track that encircles the town. The Bridestow Lavender Farm is nearby and transport to Flinders Island begins in Bridport. So it is a great place to visit and if your need is more spacious accommodation it may still be worthwhile seeking out a booking agent for Bridport Resort even though it is essentially closed as a hotel/inn with no onsite reception.

Epic Location and Experience

Reviewed By WorldTravelRod

This is one of my most memorable and favorite hotels in the world. Its my second visit to Edge of the Bay, so glad I returned. Rooms have a commanding and endless view of Coles Bay, you see for miles around and all natural, its incredible to be this remote in this nice of a hotel. Yes, wallabies walk around outside your room maybe 1 meter away. Room is very large, fast internet and nice sliding doors to enjoy your large patio looking out over the bay. I opened the slider in the morning to listen to the pounding surf. Walk 50 meters to the shoreline and enjoy the rocks, the colors and the views. If you want to get away from it all, I cannot imagine a better get away from it experience. Enjoyed dinner two nites at the restaurant Lure on the property. Wonderful dinners, wines and great service both dinners. Lamb was perfect and the venison so flavorful. Great setting and wonderful dinners. Memorable, simply memorable.
