We were directed to a cheap and cheerful place for dinner, too, so do ask for recommendations. We were on bikes: that worked fine too (safe storage).

Charm and quaintness but simple and beautiful - if you’re in search for this type of stay, you will find it here. The owner, Claudine cooked us our own very special meal that evening and provided us room #4 which looked out over the pretty garden. We really didn’t want to leave but unfortunately had to be in Paris for our next booking. Next time if we are near we wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

The house is situated on island in the river Loire, 3 minutes walk from downtown - crossing the stone bridge from 1520. Parking is located in front of the house, the summer pool is 150 meters. 1St floor: one bedroom (for 2 persons) with sitting area is equipped with a double bed. Separate bathroom and wc. The second floor suite comprises two en suite bedrooms (4 persons), with an additional mezzanine (2 persons) and terrace overlooking the Loire. Classfication by 'Clevacances': 3 Keys* The suite includes a bathroom, WC & dressing. In all rooms Satellite TV and Wifi/WLan. Package for one-week stay possible.

Reviewed By MsCaptainThe lady who runs this house was incredibly keen to see us and even made us dinner, for free, so it seems wrong to give a poor rating. However, we didn't get the room we had booked as she had put other people in there so we ended up with a double, not twin beds. The room was stuffed with furniture and smelt musty. The toilet was so high that it was hard to sit on! The assumption that we wouldn't mind a change in room and that we would stay for dinner was just too intrusive. Breakfast was very poor so we had to make a dash to the bakery. On the plus side, the shower was super hot and powerful and our bikes were securely stored. In my opinion, this place isn't a complete 'no-no' but there must be better places around.

Reviewed By paulgeryDo not go here! It is far to expensive for what you get and very unhospitable. Ofcourse it could be romantic and has potential, but then for half the price and with friendly staff. So stay away. We were unlucky and had to look for a room the very last moment, but will never go there again.
