Our driver Bryan picked us up right on time and suggested multipe things for us to do. We went to Manawakie park first, where my wife was delighted to hold and pet a sloth. We also saw and pet monkeys and parrots. After that, we handed out school supplies to local children (Bryan arranged for them to meet us). Then he took us to a great sighsteeing spot overlooking the port. We went to a local souvenir shop (The Rusty Fish) afterwards, where all the pieces are made from items found at the landfill. Then Bryan arranged a local boat to take us snorkeling for an hour (separate charge from the price of the tour). Roatan has a fantastic coral reef, and the snorkeling was amazing. After that, it was on to the local chocolate shop, where we got a free tour and free samples. Bryan recommended different shops and places throughout the tour, but he never pressured us to buy anything. He was very friendly and engaging, and he made the tour even more special. At the end, we were a litlte hungry, but not hungry enough for a full meal. He had told us about a local lady that makes coconut bread, so he stopped at her corner and bought us some bread to try. It was so delicious and it really filled us up; just another great recommendation. We made one last stop at the Roatan sign, then he got us back to the ship in plenty of time. It was such a great way to see the island and try different activities. We highly recommend this tour if you're visiting the island.

5. East End Tour (Mangroves, Punta Gorda, Port Royal) with Snorkeling Option

West End Village, Roatan, Honduras, West End, Honduras Roatan Tour Guide Association

Arguably one of the most popular tours in Roatan and definitely the most nature oriented one! We'll take you on a paddle boat (You won't have to paddle) to check out the mangroves at Oakridge, check out how some of the first settlers of Roatan live and dive into the clearest waters of Roatan. Get your bathing suit ready (optional) and jump into a natural ocean pool in the middle of the mangroves. There really are no words to explain it, you have to see it for yourself! This is definitely a must-see location in Roatan.

Dani speaks perfect English, and very quick to respond to any questions when booking our adventure. Nahomi picked us up from our rental home, and took us to West End. We were supplied with fins and snorkel masks, then paddled out and tied on to a buoy in Half Moon Bay. Nahomi & Dani snorkeled with us, guiding us through the coral where we saw hundreds of fish, including parrotfish, a couple of spotted sharptail eels (aka sea snakes), a lionfish and an Eagle ray! The coral itself was spectacular as well. After kayaking back to shore we ate at the Cannibal Cafe (which was also where we received and returned our snorkel gear). We then dined on delicious quesadillas, tacos and nachos. It was honestly the best meal we had in Roatan! Don't let the name of the Cafe fool you - they offer vegetarian dishes as well! Afterwards Nahomi and Dani took us to the Honduran Chocolate Factory, where we had a wonderful and insightful tour, learning about how cacao is processed. They are very passionate and proud of Honduras being the birthplace of chocolate, and we all agreed all the chocolate (about 10 bowls to scoop and sample from, including white, with almonds, dark, with sea salt, chili, etc.) were the purest and finest chocolate we'd ever tasted. It is a pity we are only here one more day. I can't recommend them enough, and if (when!) we return to this beautiful island, we will be booking all our activities through Dani and Nahomi!
