This is what we offer:Gimli is our hostel situated in the middle of Dalvik just above the harbour. We offer 7 rooms, from a room for one up to big family rooms for 6 persons/dorm. Shared batrhooms and showers, free wifi and use of computer in living room. The Old House is a 100 years old 28 sqm. romantic cottage which has been renovated in the original style. Kitchen, living room with tv/dvd, free wifi. Sofa bed and matrasses on a loft. Hot tub available.Three 15 sqm cottages with a kitchenette, wc but no shower...our guests in the cottages have free access to the local swimming pool. Double bed and a sofa bed. Hot tub available.

Reviewed By rolf475The hostel was very clean and quit. Kitchen was full equiped and has enough seats for eating. After check-In the manager give us a map with nice hiking trails and other usefull information. The view to the fjord and the mountains was excellent.

Hotel Dalvik is a new and comfortable tourist class HOTEL well located in the small town of Dalvik. The 30 rooms with shower/wc offer TV, phone and wireless internet, mountain or fjord view. All guestrooms and restaurant/bar facilities are non-smoking. Additionally the hotel features 7 rooms with shared shower/wc facilities and also shared kitchen to use, ideal for budget travelers and sleeping bag accommodation. The modern and cosy lobby includes front desk (limited opening hours), TV corner, a bar and internet station. Large breakfast room that can be used for a dining room for groups and conferences. The hotel offers free parking. For individual guest a selection of snack bars, a bakery and a restaurant are situated in Dalvík. Fine dining is offered in Akureyri.
They did not clean our room!!
Reviewed By AlexohAlexohThe first night we arrived late at night in May and there was nobody at the reception desk. Some other guest pointed to us that our keys were in a basket with our name attached to it, which was confusing. There was no elevator to the second floor. No top sheet on the bed. Small room, no toiletries. The next morning our host Freya was nice at the breakfast room and very helpful. So we left to explore the area for the day and we arrived late again that second night we realized our room wasn't cleaned at all. No way to ask for clean towels since nobody was at the reception desk and obviously our bed wasn't made, our bathroom was dirty and the trash was still there. There is a reason why we choose hotels over other types of accommodations and that's because we like our room to be cleaned everyday!! We stayed two nights in here and paid almost $300.00 US dollars for the two nights and no one cleaned our room!! That's never happened to us before. Is it a standard practice or is it just very, very bad management? How could they not clean a room in a hotel?? I wouldn't recommend this kind of hotel to anybody.

Welcome to the Höfði Cottages! We offer three cosy cottages in a stunning location in Dalvik, surrounded by the Svarfadardalur Nature Reserve, a sanctuary for birdwatching. This is the place where whale watching excursions and great hiking trails start. 3 cottages are waiting for you: Litli, our “Small Guy" that fits 2 people; Elsti, “The Oldest”, a cottage with sleeping places for up to 7 people; and finally Hàr, “The Highest”, a summerhouse that has wheelchair facilities and can accomodate up to 5 people. In front of each cottage there is a nice terrace with hot tub and barbecue, plus a sauna that can be used by all the guests. Several walking trails start from this area, a lot of them are connected to the birdwatching activity in the natural reserve. The cottages are a 5 minutes drive from the local skiing area and 10 walking minutes from the Dalvik city center. Activities available close by: hiking, horse trips, skiing, whale watching, bird watching, swimming pool, golf.

Reviewed By V2919IMgiuliabOur cottage was big and beds were comfy. The host was responsive and provided us with all the info we were looking for. The view from the balcony was great and the hot tub was a fantastic plus after a long day on the road. Deeply recommended!

Recommended! Calm and quiet
Reviewed By JuliGPThe place is located at a ski station on winter. I stayed there with 6 other friends during summer so the place was really calm and quiet, I think there was only another couple staying there. The rooms are comfy and very clean. The shower cabins are a little bit small and there were only two in the girls bathroom at the time but it was also clean enough. The rooms are on the first floor and the bathrooms are on ground floor. There is also a good kitchen, clean and properly equipped, and a wide dining room. Also on the ground floor. We were gently welcomed and had no problem with payment or during our stay. The view from the room we stayed in was WONDERFUL, like we wouldn't believe we were standing in front of those mountains and landscape. The only veeeery small downside was that there was a skylight on the ceiling and, as it was summer, there was light coming in all "night". I recommend taking a night mask. But I'm not sure if all the rooms have that skylight, so nothing to be worried about! :) I really do recommend this place guys!

Reviewed By gage1963A cottage in a lovely place , with a little kitchen and a toilet. There isn't a shower, but you can easily use the one in the near hostel . The owner is kind and friendly. He let us check in a little before . He let us go to the near swimming pool with sauna for free. There is silence in the area and you can relax, having a bath in the little hot tub. I suggest it
