If you’re traveling with a pet
Reviewed By fitmasuFirst of all, you can’t fly with Ethiopian Airlines in Ethiopia with a pet. Hence, in order to stay at Lewi, we had to drive from Addis (only 5 hours drive, highly recommend arriving before it gets dark). Our time at Lewi was excellent; that even though we went for a shorter vacation, we ended up extending out stay. Food was great, staff was very nice (with our dog as well). Boat ride was also included in our room, which we really enjoyed. We had to make sure the windows were always closed, as the monkeys took quite an interest in attacking our dog:). Can’t wait to return once the construction is done!

Impossible to sleep
Reviewed By 794ericdIt is impossible to sleep in this hotel. Dogs are barking all the night. Even if you change room. The worst is that direction is aware but they continue to rent rooms. That is abnormal situation I believe. Come here only if you do not want to sleep. Food is good

Absolutely horrible experience
Reviewed By MaxJr2Warning for credit card scam ⚠️ Many months after our stay at the Awassa Heron hotell we found out that the Hotel was still withdrawing money from our accounts. We have called the police on them and are now waitting for an investigation to take place. Its absolutely the worst experience of our stay in Ethiopia so far. Nerver again!

business hotel in downtown location
Reviewed By travelibThere are three Lewi places in town, the upmarket resort, a downmarket one and this is in the middle, the rooms are generally OK, but a lot of the technology no longer works, this meant moving to a new room, when the bedight light control wouldn't allow some lights to work. In the new room all lights apart from 2 worked, and an electrician came to repair the bedside light. He eventually ran a cable to the other side of the bed, sticking bare wires into the socket and declaring this lethal solution a repair! Food was OK, the location means this is only good for. Quick overnight stop. Our tip, check everything functions before accepting your room. Oh there were bed-bugs!

Reviewed By 917zsThe bath room smell bad and not clean,I will not recommend this hotel.Hard to get towel and towel is not clean. The building looks very old and dirty. It doesn't look like a Hotel cleaned on daily, while I arrived there there was a mobile phone charging in the toilet
