Poorly Maintained & Abysmal Value for Money

Extremely expensive for an old tired property with minimal facilities. We stayed two nights in a room with no cupboard no place to put toiletries near basin, broken rubbish tidy, poor lighting in room. Nice people, good wifi, good power facilities. No radio, no tissues, shower that sprays into bathroom. BIGGEST PROBLEM - absolutely no staff available onsite between 11pm and 6am if you lock yourself out (absurd for 2022)

Right from pre-booking, main host Kev was very warm and helpful, given we were a family of 5 including an elderly/barely-mobile mum. On arrival for a 3-night stay he greeted us and showed us through both cottages (Garden and Tennis) explaining everything including the area wildlife, walks, spa operation which he had already preset the temperature. We found all kitchen appliances, tv/dvd, Alexa, a/c easy to use, in particular the tennis cottage with its walkin shower for mum. The cottages were also setup for a very good first days brekkie with local fresh-baked sourdough, milk, bread, local jam, eggs and pork sausages all provided. It was a tradition of ours to end each night in the spa with glasses of cottage-provided champagne in hand. We made good use of the tennis court and walks around the property, wildlife observed including kangaroos, kookaburras, blue wrens, stalks and other birds with koala and echidna proving elusive (until next time). Kev even gave us a tour of their private gardens which could be a great setting for a very small/initimate wedding. The cottages are very secluded, so peaceful, quiet and very calming, not another person to be seen. Great location also being on the upward Mt Macedon Rd (main town 10mins), Woodend 5mins, Kyneton 15mins, Hanging Rock 15mins and few wineries visited in the area. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the stay, we will be back for sure and it was a shame to return to the real world. Thanks Kev/Bruce for a wonderful experience. The Pereira/Dias families.

Northfield

Quiet and comfy

Reviewed By 111HGA

Just a short walk into the town proper, this lovely apartment had all you would need for a relaxing time. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were clean and attractive. The train station is also a short walk. The township offers quite a few good eateries and there is a Farmers Market held about once a month. From here there are lots of interesting places to visit.
