We loved the atmosphere here, and tried a local beer which was really rather good! The food was fine, but underwhelming. Next time I would grab a drink here, then find somewhere else to eat.

We had not been here since Annie Smither's was in the building. The decor and fittings have been refurbished and updated and now has a superb, peaceful ambience. The staff were highly professional yet friendly. Memories of the Lakehouse with former staff member James and a painting by Allan Tasker Wolfe adorning one wall. The food was modern Australian. I had the duck and my husband had the barramundi, both were delicious. The creme brulee was as good as any I've had in Paris. A a nice touch was the Chef's gift of a tasty small bowl of homegrown tomato soup. The wine list is vast and very reasonably priced. The garden out the back has had a makeover and is a lovely spot to either dine in or just sit and relax after your meal or between courses. You will not want to leave. We will be returning on a regular basis. Highly recommend this beautiful regional restaurant.

Stopped here fo a bite of lunch as we had eaten here some time ago, however this time we found the wait staff rather pathetic in their attitude.
We order a coffee first and on its Delivery asked some questions about their menus which seemed to be to hard for them. As a result we finished our coffe which was fine and left to find somewhere else to eat.
It was a pity as they had good indoor and outdoor Seating and an interesting array of home wares.

Can highly recommend Bourkies. Top place to call into.Service was prompt and friendly even tho it was busy. Pie and pastie was delicious, coffee was fabulous but highlight was their famous vanilla slice. Awesome...filling oozes out so make sure you have a serviette close by after eating. Nice eating area with an automated bakery scene which pleases all when button is pushed. Can imagine there may be a wait on weekends judging how popular it was on a Wednesday. Well done to staff will be back

We had brunch here with our kids, and its a really lovely place, bigger than I thought at first, but still small, thankfully there is quite a bit of outdoor Seating to compensate on those warmer days.
Not a huge range for breakfast I thought, but it seems what they do, they do well. The eggs and bacon in turkish bread, was lovely and reasonably priced. Note to self ask for no tomato relish when with the kids again!
This is a great place to stop when visiting Mount Macedon and the nearby memorial at the top of Mount Macedon provides stunning views.

Relaxed dining in Kynetons' heritage-listed Piper Street. The menu is based around seasonal, quality products sourced locally wherever possible. Little Swallows' innovative and enthusiastic chef regularly updates the specials board, and the menu is changed seasonally.

After a beautiful lunch at one of the local eateries we decided to try somewhere else for coffee and cake. We came across this little cafe - it looked quaint and inviting. I ordered the Date and Walnut Loaf and when it arrived it they sliced the skinniest piece of loaf I ever seen. Infact every time i tried to cut into it - it crumbled as it was so thin. The crumbs tasted nice and the berry jam was delicious. I was very disappointed as the loaf on display was chunky and I expected a normal toast size slice which would have been more flavoursome. If i knew i would have ordered 2 servings of it. Coffee was outstanding so was the service

Regularly come here for a work meeting in the private room. Usually have a working lunch of very average party pies and sandwiches. This time we had lunch in the bistro which features exposed brickwork, polished timber and an open fire. Better food. My salt and pepper calamari was good. Reasonable service. Average value.
