Great Fishing Resort!

Reviewed By sspychal

5 Guys stayed the weekend in 2 of the attached units. They were 1 bedroom units with 2 twin beds and 1 futon couch. Full size fridge, Stove, pots/pans etc, and grills to use outside. Wifi and satellite TV as well (but we did not use them). Everyone was friendly, especially the owners! Really nice people. The boat we rented was perfect for fishing the river. Nothing fancy, but a clean fishing pontoon with 40hp motor that started every time. There is a shop that has beer, bait, ice, and all the essentials. It's in a great location close to the good fishing spots as well as a short drive or boat trip to multiple bars/restaurants. Thanks John & Jackie for a great stay!

Horrible place to stay

This establishment is run down and over priced. Tammy told me they only had the large "cabin" available when we were pretty desperate to find a place to stay for just one night in the area. She charged us almost 200 dollars, and after doing so, told us that there was a little leak in the roof. When we entered the place there was a steady pour of water from the kitchen roof with some towels in the floors to sop it up. The place was totally run down: cheap uncomfortable single beds, bad sheets, dirty, appliances from the 60's, and no source of heat for a night in the 50's. It was very reminiscent of what you'd expect from a 1980's communist Russian tower block. After trying to make the best of it we tried some fishing, and upon sundown released ol' Tammy told us a tall tale and put us in the most expensive cabin when it seemed many of the other cabins were sitting vacant. I would not recommend this place, especially if you want to rent. The bar is mediocre. I would wager to say the other reviews are from people that the couple that run this place know. I have a video of the place and the improvised waterfall in the kitchen but unfortunately can't upload videos to Yelp. I would recommend Redbanks resort instead of this place if you're in the area.

Had a Relaxing and Enjoyable Time

My husband and I stood in Cottage 7, which was for 2 people. The accommodations were perfect for a fishing trip. The room was very clean, comfortable, and just enough space for 2 people. The owners were friendly and actually sat down with us, outside in the beautiful weather, and just chatted with us. This made us feel very welcomed. The location is great!! Just a 3-minute drive over the bridge to where the restaurants and bars are located. When you return to the cottage, life is just so peaceful and serene again. The price was reasonable for the pontoon rental. I would highly recommend staying at this location!!
