Perfect stop leaving the Western Fjords. Our host went above and beyond to be accommodating. Property is right on water with a beautiful view. Three very cute cottages on property. Highly recommend this property.

We stayed in a lovely double room at the Dalhyttur lodge. It was recently renovated and really charming. We were originally given a twin room with a kitchenette, but requested to be switched to a double instead. It didn't have a kitchenette, which was fine by us. The double room was much nicer than the twin, though both were clean and comfortable. It is super remote, so I'd recommend finding some place to eat before heading there. The mountain road there is absolutely gorgeous.

Laxarbakki has 12 deluxe rooms, 8 standard rooms and one cottage for rent. Restaurant that takes 100 guests.
My friend and I stayed here for a night passing through. We got in a little late so didn't get to have dinner at the hotel, but we drove to nearby Akranes where we were able to grab a bite and bring it back. The room was a good size! It had a stove, microwave and refrigerator, as well as a small sofa bed. We were very comfortable there, hunkering down after a long day. Would recommend a stay here!

We chose this guesthouse bc it is well situated between Westfjords and Snaefelssness. Check-In worked flawlessly, guest and common rooms are cosy and lovingly furnished. The host and her husband are just lovely. They did everything to make us feel welcome and at home. Breakfast was delicious and satiable.

The guesthouse provades 4 rooms with bunkbeds and 2 single rooms. All together beds for up to 14 persons. Big kitchen with all amenities, living room and two bathrooms with showers. The guesthouse is next to the ringroad 1 with free parking, next to a salmon river and in a very good posision to enjoy the northern lights in the winter time.
Friendly owners, very interesting to talk to about country life in Iceland. The rooms are immaculate, no noise from the outside world at all. Perfectly located to be a base from which to explore. If your considering booking, just book you will not be disappointed.

The cabin like Cottage is of good size with a double room and a twin room. The Rooms are small but the Lounge area is pretty comfortable and bright. Very clean. The kitchen is very well equipped. We arrived after 7pm. The Reception was unattended but with our Cottage information displayed. We checked in ourselves without much problem. The whole Cottage was already warm with heaters on. However, the beds are quite worn, particularly the double bed. The WiFi did not work well for most of the time. It is located five minutes from the Town Centre where grocery stores open until 1900 or 2000. I found this quite convenient.

Akkeri Guesthouse is a new guesthouse in the heart of the old town in Stykkisholmur. Quite a few restaurants are in walking distance from Akkeri Guesthouse as well as the harbour and a few interesting museums. A perfect location to stay for a few days and get to know one of Iceland's more beautiful towns.
In 7 nights we stayed at 6 different accommodations. Since they were each unique I can’t pick a favorite, but I must say this was the friendliest. I enjoyed speaking to the innkeeper about the wildlife, and the local lifestyle. I find these subjects fascinating. I am glad I spent a night in this town. I felt like I had the opportunity to see how Icelanders live. About our room. It was small, but spotless. The bathroom is small, but modern. The view was beautiful. We could see the harbor, and the quaint architecture of the town. We had a TV which we actually watched Eurovision on. We purchased breakfast which was good. The price was very good for the quality of accommodation. I highly recommend this Friendly guesthouse.

The new, family-owned and operated Drangar Country Guesthouse is on a renovated farm, well-situated on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, bordering Dalir, a mere two-hour drive from Reykjavik. We are midway between the beautiful towns of Stykkishólmur and Buðardalur, which offer quality restaurants, services and recreational opportunities.
Design awarded guesthouse in perfect, spectacular location. Hosts should receive an award as well, as unbelievably friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and sympathetic. Off the beaten track and yet not far far from all the beauties of the peninsula. The estate includes several islands. By the way, Snaefellsnes is also ideal during winter season, as everything is usually accessible , unlike other parts in Iceland. Dear hosts: thanks for this unique experience. PS: Website currently does not yet show the places beauty.

The hotel is situated on a landmark in Skálholt that was once the Capital of Iceland. It's also in a great location when it comes to taking daytrips to attractions in the Golden Circle, the South Coast and the highlands of Iceland. The hotel and restaurant offers free Wi-fi to all of it's guests.
Hotel Skalholt is placed in beautiful, picturesque setting and run by the friendliest host I have ever encountered, Gigi. Gigi welcomed our group of 5 into 3 well-appointed rooms at the last minute, after our booking at another local hotel fell-through. When we arrived Higi showed us to our rooms and gave us a tour of her beautiful property. She has been working hard to design and crest a space for tired travelers to unwind. Surrounding this hotel there is an adorable indoor restaurant a beautiful church, grass-topped cabin, and nature for miles (or Meters). Thank you to Gigi and her staff for the amazing hospitality and accomodating our last-minute 3 room request. Our stay with you was a highlight of our Iceland Adventure!
