Great place, family atmosphere, nice staff, very good food
Reviewed By Guide62187395597Ee really liked this place. We came late and still they organised a small diner for us. After 6 hours drive it was so much appreciated. Nice service in rooms and restaurant. So relaxing. Direct access to Thermals Bath were we spend a very relaxing moment after 1 day horse riding.

The shortest way from the hotel room to the thermal bath of Scuol - the Badehotel Belvair is connected through a short passage directly with the bath. 33 Rooms, all facing south with balcony or terrace are decorated with warm colours and accessible by elevator. Great for access to the Thermal baths, family friendly
Reviewed By DouglasA587We spent 5 days at Badehotel Belvair during Covid times as our first getaway for the year. The Engadin valley was the perfect place to go for quiet walk and enjoy the thermal hotspring waters at the extensive Bad Scual facilities which are attached. The bath entry price is included in the hotel price. There's only 33 rooms, and two types. We stayed in both because we extended our trip and had to book a smaller room for the extension, so we have a great comparison. The basic rooms are comfortable without being massive, but all do have mountain views from a small 2x2m balcony with nice flowers. The family rooms are almost the same but have a kind of mostly private lobby area with what I think it another fold out bed. That was convenient when I had to do some work and would be perfect for a family. Strangely, the bathroom door is transparent, faces directly on a large mirror in the hallway, and the toilet is aligned on with both the door and mirror, That's actually quite a turnoff to watch yourself sitting on the toilet, and there's no privacy if anyone walks past at the time... not so family friendly. They should really, really put some privacy film on those doors. That was not an issue in the basic rooms due to the configuration. Oddly also, the family room had no fridge, but the basic rooms did. I suspect what happened is that they had fridgets (you can see the cupboard that held them), but they were right next to the bed and would have been too noisy. As other reviews mentioned, this hotel is aligned with Bad Scuol and has internal access. You can wear just a robe and your swimmers, and towels are plentiful. I reviewed the baths separately. You can go as often as you like, included in the hotel price, but it does not include the Roman-Irish bath (which was well worth it as a safe Covid bathing experience). The staff were very helpful and most spoke english although the main language is German. They helped us with bookings. Breakfast was okay, perhaps a reduced offering for Covid times. There was also a set course dinner available, but we didn't try it. There were Covid protections in place. At the time we were there masks were not required, but there was sanitizer available. But like much of Switzerland, we didn't see a lot of people adhering to social distancing. Perhaps it was the time of year we were there (just after summer school holidays), or perhaps it's the lure of the baths, but we did notice that at 40 something years old, we felt like the youngest people in the hotel at times. All up, it was well worth the fairly steep price, particularly if you can take advantage of the thermal baths every day.

The Hotel Filli enjoys a quiet location about a 5-minute walk from the centre of Scuol and 80 m from the (ski) bus stop. WiFi is available free of charge in all areas. All rooms of the Hotel Filli are furnished in typical Engadine style or have modern furnishings. A rich buffet breakfast is offered with home-made bread and jams, regional farmers' products, and eggs from the hotel's own hens. The restaurant serves regional specialities and international dishes. Home-made cakes, Italian espresso and a wide range of brandies are served in the lobby bar. Guests enjoy discounts at the Engadin Wellness and Spa Centre. From May to October, public transport can be used in the region of the Swiss National Park free of charge.

Reviewed By henrietaWe spent 6 days with our two 13 years old children in this hotel in February 2022. We can definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Friendly, happy to help staff, great food - we had half board and they cooked also kids friendly meals for our children if menu was not to our children liking. We had two double bedrooms which were great for us all. They were very quiet. We found no negatives in this hotel. We will definitely come back there in summer to explore this lovely village during longer summer days.

The food was just so so
Reviewed By Sam CWe stayed in this hotel last time we were in Scuol. This time is a day trip back here and revisited this hotel for lunch. There were not many people there. We ordered salad and today's special, which was a rosti with egg on top. The sauce of salad was Italian but too sour at the end. The rosti is just okay. The quality was a bit different from last time we were there and a bit disappointed.

Exceptional Family Run Hotel
Reviewed By handyspannerWe came to Scuol for a couple of days to take in the air, enjoy the views and use the thermal baths, Hotel Gabriel was recommended to us by a friend and all I can say is "what a lovely find". From initial reception to final departure Andreaus and the family could not be faulted. We had a lovely room that is all pine and very comfortable, with a large and spacious bathroom with an excellent hot shower. The breakfast is very good and provides for most tastes with cereals, yogurts, pastries, cheese and cold meats with breads and preserves too. We ate both evening in the hotel restaurant and both meals could not be faulted for quality and value, with Andreaus and the staff providing excellent service. On both evenings during our stay the restaurant was busy with guests from the hotel and people who came in just to eat. We came to Scuol mainly for the thermal baths, however, we found a little gem and no doubt we will return to enjoy the summer time in the future, together with another winter dip in the baths!! Thanks for a great stay!!

Thanks a lot to the owner of the hotel, who was very helpful to us when our daughter had a small accident at the snow piste.

Very cute hotel for a very reasonable price

It is located in a very ancient house and the common spaces are furnished with traditional furniture, which provides for a very typical mountain experience. We stayed in a double room-studio, with kitchen included, which was spacious, comfortable and with a nice view on a small square and the mountains in the background. The furniture was very nice, with a small "living corner" with couches and coffee table. We didn't use the kitchen but it looked fully-furnished. The bathroom and toilets were in the corridor, but it wasn't a problem for us. And the breakfast was delcious! We will definitely return there!

Talk about going from rustic and sparse to having anything and everything at your fingertips. From the first moment we walked through the front door (dirty and stinky from hiking in the heat), we were warmly welcomed, offered a welcome drink and given a short orientation about the hotel and accompanying services (which includes many... lift tickets, free public transport, free entry to the local mineral baths and more). Our room was beautiful and had an amazing view to the south and the mountains. Frankly, they have turned service into an art. I had mentioned in an email that it was our anniversary and because of that, they offered us a free drink with dinner and more. Simply put... there's no question that we'll be staying at the GuardaVal again in the future.

All non-smoking-Swiss stone pine-rooms with bath/wc or shower/wc, nearly all rooms with large south-facing balcony and magnificent views of the Engadine Dolomites, wonderfully quiet, completely refurbished in solid pine, with satellite TV, radio-CD-player, safe, telephone, soap dispenser, sitting area. Our lounge, the bar and the served sun-terrace ask to stay, 6 different equipped snuggeries, all very homelike with a lot of wood and ambience. Lounge with tiled stove, reception and bar in massive Swiss stone pine and parking place for free, non-smoking dining areas and lift. Central situated and very calm. For each overnight stay 1 ENTRANCE unlimited to the spa FOR FREE! Several times a day, without limit = open end
God value for money, excellent set menus
Reviewed By 18travelmanHighly recommended 3 star hotel, rooms are spacious, clean and basically configured. Internet & TV works well . Staff and service is excellent, very quick and attentive. The all inconclusive package with breakfast, post skiing snacks and set menu evening meal including the ski pass and local transport pass is good value for money. Ski lifts are only 5 minutes drive from the hotel. The Irish - Roman mineral bath complex is directly accessable underground from the hotel (when open)
