Reviewed By Tom HVery nice location on the river. Close to the train station and a short walk to the downtown area. The room was very nice, everything worked as expected. Good wifi connection. We really enjoyed the morning breakfast spread. Good selection of fresh fruits, pastries and bread, cereals and eggs and bacon. WE took tours of the river and wineries plus a great experience with a cooking demonstration. What a great place to be.

Reviewed By BillyDee2014We stayed here for a couple of nights in May and have nothing but nice things to say. The room was comfortable and clean. The shower was good and the view from the balcony was amazing. From the lemon trees in the yard to the flowers by the pool to the gorgeous views of the bridges and the tiered hillsides the sight was beautiful. The breakfast was good and ample. in short it was a nice stop on our trip. The vineyards were only a short drive away and the restaurants down by the river / railroad were very good.

Opened in 2014, the house offers a warm and comfortable space, combining a modern style with its still visible history associated with vine growing and the production of the famous Port wine. The "lagares" and the winery are interesting features that will not go unnoticed. The "Casa Nª Sra do Carmo" offers a panoramic view of the Douro valley and of the surrounding mountains with their terraced vineyards. It is certainly a unique place to spend relaxing moments, with tranquility and nature all around us.

The guesthouse has been stylishly converted from an old family property and is clean, with great open areas both indoors and out, to sit and relax. The views across the valley are incredible. As so many other reviews have mentioned, Nuno is a wonderful host - friendly, knowledgable and very generous with his time (we bombarded him with so many questions). We did a 6km walk from the house and also took electric bikes out for the day through Nuno's company, using GPS guidance to cover 60km's of the Douro valley - this was a real highlight of our trip. We would highly recommend a stay here, whether you want to relax and drink in the views (and the local wine) or be active...its a perfect base for both.

Reviewed By NilePertNo frills, a bit old/dated, but a killer value in a touristy region. Right downtown Regua, next to train station and several nice restaurants and tasting rooms. Just a couple min walk to the banks of the river. Many wineries within a 5-10 min drive. Mediocre mattress/pillows - but about as you'd expect for the price. I'd stay here again. Not sure if there is an elevator FYI.

Reviewed By Maiza2h-No noise isolation, too much eco -They advertise swwiming pool on the website, but the swwiming pool was not working when we arrived in the hitt of 30° - breakfast is very poor - have to improve the cleaning service, remove the durst from the furniture - the MOST Important, improve the support to the client at the reception, specialy if the hotel MADE a mistake GOOD: - location - free car park - good structure building but not well managed _ have to improve a lot and I am just saying simple things, you don't need to do too much to make a difference even for a 2 stars hotel.

“Casa do Olival” has a choice of en-suite rooms with astonishing views over the mountains, city or river making it such a relaxing place to stay only 7 minutes walk from the centre. All our rooms have air conditioning, wifi, tv, private bathroom with shower, wardrobe, table and veranda equiped with chairs/ table ideal for an evening end enjoying a glass of wine. Common kitchen/lounge.

Reviewed By 272henrybCasa Olival has beautiful modern rooms and baths. It’s very convenient to town and to walking along the Douro. our room overlooked the lovely family gardens. There is a well equipped kitchen and beautiful common room. This isn’t a B and B so you need to bring breakfast food or go out. Very little English or Spanish is spoken in town.

Depois de entrar este detalhe foi esquecido completamente. Fomos recebidos por uma recepcionista muito simpática e encontramos uma ambiente harmonioso, limpo e novo. O quarto é espaçoso e uma cama confortável, limpa e com lençóis novos. A casa de banho é pequena mas suficiente para um casal. De manhã tomamos o pequeno almoço bom numa sala agradável.

Um senhor muito simpático, e la tive que pagar uma caixa de vinho ! Ofereceram-nos a receita e uma garrafa de Porto para um Porto tónico, que iremos experimentar no regresso a casa! De certeza que regressaremos!

La Chambre est simplement décorée et sans charme particulier, mais elle est très propre, les serviettes sont épaisses et douces (nous avons fait beaucoup d'hôtel, et ce n'est pas le cas partout). Elle est spacieuse. La cuisine et la terrasse sont un plus très appréciables. Il est facile de se garer près de l'hôtel. Il est très bien situé. Les propriétaires sont gentils. Le petit déjeuner est servi au café à côté, il est très copieux et bon. La propriétaire nous a servi comme des rois.
