Reviewed By sfjimpThis is the first Pousada we stayed at during our first trip to Portugal. It recently re-opened after the lockdown. Glad to say it's back to it's usual high standards. Be sure to allow time to wander through the castle and chruch.

Reviewed By toto132I came with my sister to be near Setubal and to visit Arrabida. We were really well welcomed. People there are really nice and peaceful (always smiling, doing yoga on the morning, etc..). The view is astonishing: they told us to climb the hills to see a view point from which you can see at 360°. It was really nice. As a conclusion, a beautiful place with beautiful people.

A hidden gem not to be missed
Reviewed By DrofchulDWe can highly recommend a stay at Casa de Atalaia in the tranquil village of Palmela. The Casa is a superbly executed fusion of modern and traditional architecture and design in a building which has been converted from a winery. It has 4 rooms for guests, we stayed in a spectacular superior room with a huge bathroom with freestanding bath beneath a light well, plus an integral shower/wet room. The bed was vast and very comfortable and all rooms have aircon/wifi etc. There is a little rooftop pool and outside sitting space for sunbathing/reading a book as well as communal areas inside, all of which are beautifully presented. Case de Atalaia is overseen by Rita, a charming woman with fluent English (and other languages) who could not be more helpful or attentive to her guests. Breakfast is also excellent. The attention to detail and personal service make this a wonderful place to stay.

Reviewed By Guillaume LSuper host, very nice, helpfull and cheerfull. He knows how to bring a great service. We got the Black and Red room which was very good (the matress could be a little bit more comfortable but this is a question of habits), the spa bath is really envoyable. The whole place is clean. And the location is idealistic if you want to discover this area beetwen Sesimbra and Setubal.

Reviewed By ChileiceThis is a small Ma and Pa hotel near the A2 but far enough away to be quiet. It is well-priced and we have stayed here three times. The owners live on the property and the property is located in a rural enclave just north of the main part of Palmela. it is a quick drive to Setúbal, to the mall or to restaurants and fast food. Very quiet, not fancy, but quite utilitarian. You are paying for a good night's sleep and not for needless extras.

An amazing bargain!
Reviewed By Maestro2001We stayed one night here. This hotel is situated off the A2 motorway just outside the small town of Palmela. It is located away from the town and there isn any public transport other than taxis so you really need a car if you are staying here. The rooms here were huge and very well equipped.There was a comfortable sofa bed for our son and a huge super kingsize that would easily fit 3!. The decor and finishing was all in good order and the room was spotlessly clean Within the very large bedroom there was also a fully eqipped compact kitchen shut away from view in a cupboard. Cable Tv with about 50 channels and efficient self controlled air conditioning. Basic breakfast and free parking were included in the price. Wired internet was available at 2 Euros per hour (although when went to pay as we chcked out they said there was no charge!). Would stay again for a night or two to explore this area further.
