Excellent resort but evening entertainment could be improved

Reviewed By lucykF5327XV

Visited first week of June and could not fault the staff from when we arrived until we checked out, always very helpful and welcoming, maybe only negative was that most of them did not speak very good English, but we always managed to get by. The resort was spotless and the grounds were always being maintained and looked amazing. There are activities from morning to night suitable for all hosted by a very energetic fun entertainment team. My husband took part in the Tennis sessions every day and was very impressed by the coach, always very helpful and welcoming. The variety of food for an all inclusive is really good and there was only one meal, in a week, where I found that I was struggling to find something to my taste. The pool bar lunch food was exceptional every day and always very high standard. There are a lot of reports regarding difficulties in getting sunbeds but this is if you are looking for shade a majority of the day. We could always find sunbeds at anytime of the day, if you are not fussy with your location, always very close to one of the pools. The resort could maybe add tables with holders in them because the cups get blown around in the wind, spilling sticky drinks on the floor which can invite flies if not cleaned quickly. A must if you are visiting are clips for your towels and taking trousers and jumpers for the evenings, as most of the entertainment is outside. Evenings can be very cool with the wind, making it uncomfortable to sit around and enjoy.

The breakfast was excellent and there was a great variety of fresh food. We also enjoyed the fresh fish every evening and it made all inclusive so much worthwhile. We really enjoyed the short stroll to the beach and then spending the last 2 hours by the pool to relax. The staff were great and the place was spotless, kudos to all.

Return Trip

Our second time at this hotel. This trip we bought along my Daughter and Grandaughter. The food is good, well presented and plentiful. We all found the “juice” machines produced very watered down liquid more akin to squash, which was disappointing if you didn’t want something fizzy. The staff work really hard all day and always seem happy and engaging. Rooms are well appointed and kept clean. I booked us a pool view room and would definitely recommend this option. The bathrooms have good quality toiletries and a great hairdryer. I did miss not having a makeup mirror but it was hardly a deal breaker. The hotel is exceptional value for money and superbly situated right next to the enormous beach.

"HOW DID YOU END UP HERE"

Reviewed By otis222

After a long day and travelling thousands of miles we were greeted with "How did you end up here: this is a hotel for Germans and you will be the only English people here". We were told that everything is in German and there is no translation to English. Then we were shown a map that indicated our room was not overlooking the sea, but we were assured that we would have a lovely sea view. The continuing deceit was a feature of the holiday. After wandering about in the dark we found the room. Disappointingly, it had a view of a neighbouring hotel and what looked like sewage works! The receptionist said that the pictures and description given to us when booking was misrepresentation. Most of the next day was wasted as promises made were broken, but eventually we were moved to a room with a sea view. The booking site gives English as the first language and promises - a flat screen TV with satellite channels. Predictably, none are in English. There is a Gazette printed everyday giving a timetable of events and other important information - the manger promised that it would be translated so that we would know what was going on. However, despite several reminders it was never provided. We are keen tennis players and wanted to take part in the daily clinic - to do this you need to sign up on a Sunday, but we were not told and could not take part. Our other enjoyment on holiday is swimming. Unfortunately, the hotel pool is at a temperature that makes this unattractive, and we did not see anyone swim all week. Heavy Smokers will enjoy this hotel - there are designated smoking areas (Everywhere?). This holiday was like going to Butlins - with all the entertainment in a language you could not understand. And the activities you came for being unavailable. There is not enough room here to cover the many failures of management and other problems at Club Aldiana. We were made to feel unwelcome and even the shuttle bus was only available if we arrived at the airport over 5 hours before departure, leaving us with a taxi bill of 100 euros.

Simple and clean

I spent my New Year's holiday here and it was okay experience. Some highlights but also some lowlights Pros: * very friendly and helpful staff, e.g. packed breakfast due to very early check-out was not a problem at all * the location is excellent, walking distance to beach, shops, restaurants * the rooms are clean, housekeeping does a good job * there's a nightclub/disco across the street but since the bedroom is located in the rear part of the apartment, one can barely hear it (also the bedroom is relatively dark, perfect for sleeping off jet lag) Cons: * the furniture is rather old and shabby * wireless is paid extra * the kitchen is part of the apartment but there are almost no kitchen utensils (not even sharp knife), no microwave either ... so I wonder how's one supposed to prepare meals there?

Nice views, good location but the rest not so good

Reviewed By 979lorraines

On arrival at the reception the guy on the desk did not smile at all, very unwelcoming. The room was basic but we knew it was a bit cheaper than our normal options however the beds were so hard and uncomfortable and being 2 singles just pushed together they drifted apart all the time, we did not sleep very well due to these issues. We don't go on holiday for TV but it's nice to have the option to watch but there were only German and Spanish channels so no point in paying to get a handset, you also paid to use the safe. The table in the room and other areas had tiny little insects all the time, maybe a seasonal thing? I don't know but we only ate on the balcony at the plastic table with 2 chairs and no parasol plus there were no loungers which there was space for. The switch socket in the bathroom was coming loose, bed linen not changed in the week we were there although the towels were. Cleaning was average but done frequently. We were on the 10th floor and had a nice view especially of the spectacular sunsets every night. Nice location, near the beach and restaraunts, noisy lifts, could be slow at times. Very orientated to the German clientele, breakfast was not that great and if you opted for an evening meal it felt a bit like school dinners although as much wine and beer as you wanted was on tap. We seemed to be the only British folk staying there so I suppose you can get them gearing towards the German holidaymakers. We won't stay here again although we love Morro Jable, this being our 3rd visit to the town.

Faro Mare Apartments Morro Jable

"Mar Suites Jandia - eine einzige Zumutung!"

Reviewed By Günter Z

No Soul Hotel - Def NOT a Four star …

Reviewed By Angeline G

Did lots of research prior to booking this hotel, I have stopped in many four star all inclusive hotels - This is not one. Turned up late wed eve, was allocated room 307, a room with no view or balcony, the room itself was modern and spacious and the beds had memory foam mattresses. The majority of staff are hard working in particular Danni and Marco. The hotel is in a gd location, central to bars and shops and restaurants - that’s about all the positives. The food is buffet style, very little choice if you like chips you will be fine, the food is served Luke warm and the quality does not even meet school dinner standards.if you like fish fingers, burger and pork you will be fine, the pizzas resembled a frisbee and not once did I see the wood fired pizza oven working, these pizzas were definitely low budget frozen variety. I complained and asked to speak to the manager alas he was no where to be found. The receptionist said she had quite a few complaints regarding the food quality and selection and the temperature. I have worked in catering not once did I see them probe the food which was concerning. The bars all two being Zeus’s rooftop bar only opened 12-4 and the small pool bar was the main bar servicing guests from 10 am until 11pm. The drink selection was poor local fraught beer and wine that could have been used as a painstripper or vinegar, the only decent wine was the white sparkling which was 10 per cent volume. They served this at breakfast which I feel was probably to get you drunk so the food tasted acceptable! I went to the spa to book my complimentary treatment only to be told it was closed ! The management don’t care less about your feelings and stay and are hell bent in screwing you for towels, safety deposit box even bottled water which should come within the all inclusive package but was charged 2 euro for. The entertainment well, one bloke who was Rami or DJ Sharky don’t be fooled it is the same person favoured the German guests with bingo, karaoke which he gave you shots before or after your stint … so basic and low key. Would I return NO never better places to spend my hard earned money so you have been warned. Here are a few pics of the food which we lovingly called it the bush tucker trial - AVOID Avoid AVOID
