Charly Restaurante

We tried this restaurant when in the town on holiday on the recommendation of a friend who lives locally and were really impressed.
This is not a 'front line' restaurant but the quality of the food here is second to none. I believe that all food served is sourced from local farmer's markets and is freshly cooked. I had a very generous rare sirloin steak which was perfect in every way. It was cooked exactly as I wanted, had no fat or gristle whatsoever, melted in the mouth and every bit was edible, and eaten!
The menu is not that extensive but I am told that they are prepared to go 'off menu', especially for special preferences, e.g. vegetarian. We had beer with our meals but they are said to stock some excellent wines.
My wife had squid and plenty of it. She was also seriously impressed with the quality of the food here.
Service was polite and very attentive. Our first visit will certainly not be our last. .

La Farola del Mar

View is great, until you realise on the beach under the restaurant's Terrace is were the local pishheads have been all Saturday night still drinking at Sunday lunchtime, so you get to watch them stagger about pissing into the waves. That would be funny, if it wasn't for the terrible food.
The deep fired goats cheese was served with actual strawberry jam. The stake was poor. Drinks expensive. Place felt grubby.

My husband and I tried to visit here last time but it was closed.
Lovely friendly place. We had Goat Stew, Dish of the day (Chicken with Spiced Apple Sauce) and Squid & Garlic. We had House Red Wine and were served with crusty bread, alioli and water. For the 2 of us the cost was 25 Euro's which we thought was very reasonable. We weren't that keen on the chicken but it wasn't the quality just maybe no to our taste.
A lovely place away from the beach but a lovely atmosphere.
It is worth a visit

We visited Morro Jabel for the day from our appartment in Costa Calma. Was really easy to get to by the #1 bus which runs every 30 mins during week days from further north of fuevaventura. Great for a bit of souvenir shopping and for a long stroll along the golden beach. We had a great day here was very different to the quite Costa Calma. Was nice to have a bit of busy to break up our relaxing holiday.
