We're the UK's number one charity zoo, with over 15,000 animals and 500 different species, including some of the most endangered species on the planet. With 1.9 million visitors every year, the zoo is an all-year round, full-day visitor attraction for everyone. We're open daily from 10am, except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Car parking is free and on site. Facilities for disabled visitors, including self-drive electric scooters and wheelchairs.

Well presented zoo, the animals appear to be contented and happy. Loads of attractions with a new boat trip through the Islands area. Loads of good, interactive fun for children. The food was expensive and unspectacular ie a small punnet of pales fries with runny cheese and peppers £5.95 odd!! A cheese burger £5.50, cold bun and small, skinny burger. Take your own food but otherwise fabulous day out - wear comfy shoes!

The best fiver I’ve spent in a long time!
Very friendly, knowledgeable guides who bring you up close and personal to some of nature’s most beautiful raptors, and other animals such as ferrets, tortoises and snakes.
The display of the red kite, Harris hawk and barn owl hunting their prey in the Cathedral Gardens was great entertainment, and very educational at the same time.
Terrific value, a memorable afternoon out!

I visited the Grosvenor Park Open Air Theatre for a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream with my wife and two friends and what an amazing evening we enjoyed.
The atmosphere was brilliant with not a spare seat.
The performance was amazing, the direction superb and it all made for another amazing evening of brilliant entertainment.
There is something magical about the outdoor theatre's lay-out and how close the audience is to the action.
We sat in our pre-booked picnic seats and enjoyed an alfresco dinner, nice wine and good company.
This was our fourth consecutive year of attending this fantastic event and we can't wait for next year!

Booth Mansion is an historic building in the centre of the City of Chester. It is Grade 1 listed and has a number of historical aspects of note. The building was extended in 1701 by George Booth, the 1st Earl of Warrington and a number of features remain. Recently refurbished it reopened in October 2016 to include a Gallery, Tea room, Deli and retail. Since October the venue has developed its customer offering to include light lunches, Cream Tea, Afternoon Teas and its Signature dish, High Tea. The Trip Advisor reviews have highlighted a number of comments, "Hidden Gem" "Slice of luxury" By the local Cestrian community this has been said to be the place for a chill out relax in amazing Georgian surroundings. Privately run by a family team it is very definitely an "Indie" location. They run craft fairs and food fairs out on the Historic Rows outside the building at weekends, currently the first and last Saturday of the month.

Super friendly & efficient staff and a truly beautiful building however overall a little confusing experience.
Inside a beautiful high ceiling tea room with massive chandeliers... mini stalls with c***p souvenirs like post cards,bags,jewellery. With the current dated decor, it's more suited for elderly people. With a bit of an image overhaul could definitely be something... Perhaps a touch of quirky Oddfellows' style.

Chester Cathedral is many things to many people: a vibrant community of worship, an ancient abbey, an archaeological treasure, a cultural hub, a centre of musical excellence and a unique blend of medieval and modern history.

This place is powerful. You can feel the thousand years of history wrapping around you.... magnificent stained glass, in the fabulous choir stalls are beautiful wooden poppys & misericords, peace.
A commemoration of the end of WWI, very moving.
Let’s not forget the Lego model of the Cathedral (not kidding) ,the cloisters, the very good cafe & gift shop, & the falconry.
Do not miss this gem.

Not sure what people were expecting, its a Roman Wall, its not a ride or amusements, its a stone artefact and its well preserved and very interesting that Romans would have walked along the ramparts. Good that Chester Council and English Heritage have kept it in good condition. Not for people who are unsteady on your feet because of stairs, but the walk is safe enough.

Grosvenor Park is really well maintained and a lovely place to walk around, whatever the season.
There is plenty of bird life and the grey Squirrels are very tame and will come very close for people to feed/photo them.
The location is great, near to the Amphitheater and the river

This Norman church is a must see for visitors to Chester. The history of this parish church is much different than most other churches. It actually was the city's first Cathedral. The volunteer gave us an excellent summary of its history. We are very glad we spent time here both inside the church and exploring its ruins.

If you walk along the wall, you will come across the clock as you go through the centre of the shopping area. It stands very proud for all to see and is even lit up at night times, ensuring that even when it is dark, you can still see the time. It is such a lovely clock with lovely ironwork surrounding it.

The rows utterly highlight the Medieval and Tudor character of Chester. Lots of quirky little shops which go back much further than you think they did (like a tardis)
The rows are brilliant for boutiques, chain stores, antiques, jewellery and little cafes to sit and watch the city and tourists pass you by!
