The breakfast is served at the table by the proprietor, but not until 8:00 a.m. Quantities are adequate, however selection is limited. If your only language is English you may face a few problems.

Reviewed By Sandra MMiranda do Douro is a very strange village: perfect for a stop over whilst exploring the Douro.... The small town is odd indeed, but you will feel the Vista Bela Pension is perfectly adequate for a night rest. It's clean, comfortable and the views from the terrasse stunning, over the barrage. No romantic hotel, but welcoming owners, reasonable prices and a simple, basic breakfast is included. Easy free parking outside in the street.

Excellent camp site
Reviewed By nevertoooldUkWe found this site by chance and stayed 2 nights 9 & 10th Jan 2017. Its no longer the "Municipal site" but privately run. Lovely wooden bungalows for hire round edge of site. They allowed us to stay in our motorhome although the site was technically closed. We had mains electric but the toilets were closed for the season so they allowed us to use the bathroom of one of the bungalows. Excellent recycling bins and motorhome service point. Staff couldn't be more helpful even though they didnt have much English. Well kept site which we found really handy as we have dogs and its often difficult to find places to exercise them. There was nice walk up a lane at the back of the campsite, but we enjoyed the walks through the municipal gardens down in the valley between the campsite and Miranda. It is an easy walk through the gardens to visit Miranda. Would go back there again.

Reviewed By LORIT123a bit outside of centre but on a hill (with a view) and quiet, brandnew (a bit overdone), nice host, ok breakfast (loads of cakes), easy to walk downtown, fair price, recommended. and: take a walk northeast along the douro which is deep down in the canyon, and wild. wonderful landscape, villages, and stones. and hardly any tourists...

EXCELLENT Breakfast! *** My boyfriend and I wanted to visit the Parque Natural de Arribes del Duero, but due to the Holly Week the couldn't find available lodgments near the zone. So, we decided to look for somewhere nearby to stay. (You can take the cruise in a "Port" just at 15 minutes in car from the Hotel). Miranda do Douro was a total surprise. Once you cross the boarder (were you can see a wonderful landscape), you arrive to the town and then go straight for about 8 minutes until you reach Pena Branca, where you'll find the hotel. There's plenty of space for parking and it is a very calm zone. Once we arrived, Cristina received us and she was very nice, she gave us some recommendations of the town's Main Festivities those days (you'll spend around half day to visit Miranda) and restaurants. It is a perfect option if you want to take some days off.

The best part is the owner, Luisa, who makes you feel at home and serves amazing breakfasts, the surrounding river landscapes while gazing at Spain are a joy to explore. One can experience the wildlife while bird and animal watching as one hikes, bikes or jeeps!

Reviewed By ManzarraThe hotel is located close to the old city. In fact from my room i could see the fortress. The room was ok and the price was good. The staff is very friendly. The room had a balcony but with no access to it. The breakfast was basic but good.

Honest food. Good value for money. Family atmosphere. Not for foodies.
Reviewed By Nivaria1970I am not commenting about the hotel but the restaurant of the hotel which seems to be a local refrence. Food was average, served in very large rations. We eat three different types of cod, none of them really surprising but all fairly good. They do not have a large asortment of wines and none of them is really good. We drunk both bottled and home wine. Their locally produced ham was tasty but again not outstanding. To sum up, not a place for foodies but definetely value for money as we paid 83 euros for 6 people.
