I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained the Jonathan Creek Inn and Villas was. My room was very comfortable, and it was very relaxing to sit on the balcony and listen to the creek below. While they don't offer breakfast, they are directly across the street from the well-known Joey's Pancake House. This is a great option if you're staying in Maggie Valley!

Comfortable, Clean, and More

Reviewed By 211hankh

Stayed here with my wife for two nights while hiking in the area. This hotel is standard for most 2.5 star, national chain hotels, in that it is clean and has comfortable bedding (mattress, pillows, and linens). Yet we gave this particular motel higher than average marks in it’s breakfast offerings, it’s front desk service, it’s proximity to plentiful restaurants for lunch/dinner, and it’s landscaping, which includes tables and rockers under shade trees. Value for the dollar is quite good. If we could give it 4.5 stars we would have.

Paula and Charlotte are excellent hosts, and I love the quaint little inn with my favorite bird as the mascot . I would most certainly stay again and advise my friends and colleagues to do the same.

Very Disappointed

Reviewed By nancybK5945GV

Non-smoking room reeked of smoke. Borrowed Lysol from front desk and opened window, which really didn't help. Storm overnight took out power and management gave us a hard time about refund of two additional prepaid nights. Only saving grace, Denise at front desk was very kind having to deal with all the guests morning of power outage.

Not sure why 5☆

It is an old motel. When I walked in smelt musky. It says pillowtop mattress, at least the room we had didn't. The were like foam, hard for my liking. The pillows awful to my liking. The bathroom was always freezing, no heater in there. The light that came through bathroom was awful at night. We kept door shut. The back window had tons of light coming in too. The front porch light was awful to at night. The front light does shut off at 1230. If you like dark rooms to sleep go elsewhere. I like dark room. The guy working there was nice. I will never stay here again.

Find a local place!

Reviewed By travelitaMinnesota

This place is a crap hole. In the area because a family member was in hospital and seemed like best place I could find on hotels.com. Wish I would have looked at TripAdvisor because there are tons of local places that would have been better. It’s Run down! They take dogs and allow smoking. My room smelled like a dog and cigarette cocktail. The elevator was so old it was scary. Only saving grace is they’ve updated flooring and there is no carpet. I learned that this place is no longer locally owned and the locals don’t even go to the restaurant any longer.

Not the Hilton but far more fun than the Hilton -- Thanks, Angie.

Reviewed By Dave N

Let's get it out there right up front – this is not the Hilton . . . but I wouldn't trade a one day stay here for a 10 day stay at the Hilton. A classic roadside motor inn, the rooms were clean and perfectly serviceable, and the atmosphere was straight out of Elvis and Willie Nelson, in a totally good way. Lots of friendly bikers here – they're the guys who know value - but very quiet at night. Angie, the manager, is worth her weight in gold just in pure good fun and knowledge of local lore and establishments. All told, on a trip that spanned the length of Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway, this was our most enjoyable stay of the week, and next time we're in this area, this is where we'll stay.
