At 3AM their trash truck shows up in the alley next to the rooms banging loudly.

Reviewed By Kristine JFriendly staff. Tasty breakfast and chocolate chip cookies at 5. In a great location. Hop on the bike trail to Grand Teton or walk around the square. Plenty of fun shopping and eating in Jackson Hole. Will plan to stay again on our next trip to Wu.

Great location and layout
Reviewed By RoadWarrior71Things I like: Very scenic property with the creek, the paths, the multiple places to sit on the property, the cabins themselves, walking distance to downtown Jackson Hole, rainforest shower, great pool (with warm water), hot tub, and sauna. We'll definitely stay here again if we're in the area. Rent a bike on site if you have the time and bike into Grand Teton National Park with the path that goes right by the hotel (on the other side of the street). You can bike 40 miles or more into the park - it's all paved and it's all flat, and it's very scenic. Things I'd like to see improved Hot water in the showers, a bathtub vs. shower only, better lighting in the fitness room so that you can read a magazine while working out The buffet breakfast offered a wide selection but I didn't think the quality of the food was top notch.

Good hotel, needs a facelift and better lighting
Reviewed By Sherpa628434The Lodge at Jackson Hole has a great location near (but not in) the main downtown area with all the tourist shops. Although the hotel could use a facelift, the rooms were not bad. The staff were friendly and helpful - even the very overworked bartender/server and breakfast staff. Their service was great. The front desk staff were great too. Our biggest complaint is the lack of decent lighting in the rooms.

The Elk Refuge Inn is nestled up against the foothills that surround the National Elk Refuge, about two miles north of downtown Jackson and about a five-minute drive to the entrance to Grand Teton National Park. Reviewed By b4wego77We are happy with our stay at Elk Refuge Inn. Check-in and out were quick and easy. The gal that checked us in shared a lot of information about the area that was very helpful. We stayed in a kitchenette room which allowed us to make our own meals if we wanted. The room was clean and spacious and the beds were comfortable. We had a great view of the Elk refuge right across the road. The only issue that we had was the fact that there is a busy road in front of the Inn which did create a lot of road noise during the day but fortunately at night there wasn't much noise. The Inn is located a short distance from the main area of Jackson which was great for us because we like an environment that is less busy. If you want to be in walking distance of restaurants, shops, etc. then this is not the place for you. Overall a great experience.

Reviewed By crocusloverWe chose this place for its proximity to downtown Jackson Hole. Easy walk to pretty much everything in town. Our room was on the second floor and getting all of our luggage up the stairs is something I wouldn't want to do again. There are many steps to the second floor! The rooms are on the small side and there's no fridge which was inconvenient as we are travelling and had to throw everything out. One huge inconvenience is the bathroom sink. Super small with virtually no counter space or shelves other than a shelf way under the sink. This is so easily remedied but they chose to put a modern bowl sink and so we had to juggle our toiletries constantly. Beds and linens are very comfy! Our room was made up twice and the towels and floor mat were taken but not replaced. There is coffee and refreshments available but twice it was cookies that were like hockey pucks - hard and burnt. I took one bite and threw the rest away. They also offer apple and oranges. The breakfast is very very good. And the breakfast area is very nicely arranged with cloth tablecloths. Very upscale! Every day they had large warm ham and cheese croissants ready to go if you are in a hurry. Lots of other choices - sweet breads, granola, fruit etc. The omelette chefs vary and the omelettes vary as well. The first day my husband RAVED about his omelette. The next day there was a different chef and his omelette was runny with way too much cheese. If I was younger I'd stay here again!

Arrived on a Thursday evening and were escorted to a beautiful room overlooking Snow King resort by Roan, who was a great young man, courteous and personable. He showed us the features of the room, which included a fireplace and great decor. It was impeccably clean. The remainder of the weekend we would have similar encounters with the staff, who were all amazing, Bryce, Andrew, Cameron and the cleaning staff and their turn down service with the amazing chocolate treats. We will come again and we will certainly be staying at the here, as the service is unmatched, location is perfect and room was perfect.

Reviewed By ltdan_oWe really liked this hotel. It appears refurbished and was very clean. The staff were all extremely helpful and nice. It definitely has the old western feel, which was what we wanted. If you are looking for a fancy, modern hotel, this is not it. We loved the "cowboy" decor and the "old school" feel. It is in a great location for "old" Jackson as everything in the downtown area is within walking distance. Like everything else in the area, it is expensive. However, if we ever go back to Jackson, we will consider staying here.
