Reviewed By 40s_Couple_MidwestOur room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The front desk and housekeeping staff we encountered were very friendly. We liked all of the furniture included in the room, like the table with chairs, plus the kitchen. We would stay here again.

Reviewed By tin_hornThis was my first visit to Brookings. We chose Country Inn & Suites because of good ratings, and we were not disappointed. The check-in and check-out experiences were easy and pleasant. At check-in the host gave us excellent practical directions and pointers to get to the sports activity we were in town for and to find parking. Thank you for that! The room was clean throughout, spacious, quiet and completely darkened when we pulled the black-out curtains (no light leaks). That made for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was plentiful. The breakfast area was constantly being cleaned to within an inch of its life. At check-out again we were treated as though we were the best overnight guest they could have. I would gladly stay here again.

When looking at prices of the other hotels this was 50-70 dollars more per night. At check in they said sorry you have to pay so much. I had not mentioned anything about the cost. The hotel is run down. The bed was comfortable. It was so noisy with doors banging, people walking overhead, showers, people talking in hallway. They had two breakfast options waffles or biscuits and gravy. That was it. We were there just a few minutes after it opened and only two napkins. I understand Covid, but there should at least be some healthy breakfast options.

Our new pet-friendly and smoke-free 100 room Comfort Suites hotel is conveniently located one block west of I29, within easy walking distance of the SDSU Performing Arts Center, Frost Arena, and the new football stadium. Located in a developing commercial area with 9 restaurants, Super Walmart, Lowes, and Running's close by, our hotel is in the midst of Brookings life, while still only 1 mile from the Swiftel Event Center. Our amenities include: 25% larger rooms, Pool, Hot tub, Business Center, Exercise & Fitness center, Free Hot Breakfast, Free WIFI, and 55" TV's in every room!
OK stay but.....
Reviewed By BrentBPStay was for just one night. The property itself is nice. Decent size room. We had a king bed that slept well. The only two things I didn't like was after I booked the hotel by calling the hotel directly. I was quoted a price much higher than they were advertising online. When I told the gentleman the price was too high and would look around his price was starting to come down. I didn't realize I was in Mexico and need to deal o everything. I reluctantly booked. A few days later, I learned other people staying at the same place had gotten much cheaper rates. When I arrive to check in. I said I wanted to see a manager. When showed up. I began to tell him that I should have to deal for a price. I told him what others were getting their room for and low and behold. We got the same rate. The second down grade was the so called full breakfast. It is not. It is just a glorified continental breakfast and when we showed up at 7 am. the hot food was gone and no one around to replenish. Waffle maker was a mess. My suggestion is. Don't settle on the price they advertise and don't expect a full breakfast. We probably would not stay again.

Reviewed By TJD-C1Was so excited to stay here because of the water park and the rooms looked nice. Completely disappointed. The room and hotel in general have a horrible stink almost like vomit. It’s a pool view, it should smell like chlorine. The room is tiny, dark and dirty!! You can tell it wasn’t cleaned well. The walls are disgusting, full of stains, handprints and unknown substances. The bathroom looks like a 5 year old did the carpentry. It’s ghetto!!! Reminds me of a hotel that charges by the hour. I’m only staying here because it’s one quick night and then my family is out of here!!

Reviewed By Marne GI think the biggest problem with this property is general lack of upkeep. I can deal with old, beat up furniture. I can live with older mattresses and old bathrooms if things seem clean - and, for the most part, they are.. What really pushes me into the "poor" category is the cigarette buts outside everywhere. The grounds have garbage in the lawn everywhere, to the point of it being difficult to take the dog out without her trying to eat everything. The grounds are a total mess and it just feels dumpy and very shady.
