Glenholm Vingard

Was invited to discover a vineyard 1 hr north of Aalborg. In a stunningly beautiful location, a quite quirky cellar producing quite good wines in the most ridiculous of northern climates.... Growing hybrids, and even red fleshed, varieties the results from this passionate, very English Dane, winemaker are really surprising. Low in alcohol, high in price - even for Denmark - harvest may be as late as November! Well worth a visit!

Askel Krog Keramik

Reviewed By BusyBusyBusyBusyBee - Sydney, Australia

It's not surprising that Askel makes such fabulous pottery living in this inspiring spot of the Danish country side. The property itself sits atop gentle rolling hills alongside stretches of fjords with wonderful views from every angle.
Askel's pottery comes in all shapes and sizes. Enormous pots sign post the route as you drive through the lanes and welcome you upon arrival. But in the gallery there's not only individual pieces of art but everyday plates, cups, saucer and serving platters in colours and textures reminiscent of the local landscape. And not to forget a selection of very quirky teapots that would put a smile on your face every morning at the breakfast table.
Askel himself was kind enough to show us his studio do a demonstration of how he makes his pots.
Definitely recommend a visit here!

Livo

Reviewed By Gloria A - Brussels, Belgium

We came to the island by taking a day tour by boat from Nykobing Mors. We had about four hours to explore this jewel of an island in the Limfjord. The boat tour alone was a treat in itself. I believe you can also take the ferry from Roenbjerg. Check departure dates and time, as they only sail from April to September.
The island is protected and you are not allowed to take dogs with you. Vehicles are not allowed either on the island, so you have to do the tour on foot. It is possible as the distance is only ten kilometers. When you get off the ferry, there is one road, which takes you to the center of the island, where there is an inn offering lunch buffet during the summertime, and there is also a kiosk or a mini-grocery store, where you can buy ice cream, drinks and specialty souvenirs. The island should be enjoyed for its natural beauty. Take a picnic lunch with you, and find a nice place on the beach or in picnic areas located in the square. There is also a seal sanctuary, where you can observe the seals basking in the sun.The northern part of the island is ⅓ organic farms, ⅓ woods and ⅓ heath, grasslands and salt marshes. I highly recommend a trip to the island to nature lovers.

Aggersborg Vikingeborg

Reviewed By Superkatt - Sweden

The sparse remains of biggest fortress built by Vikings in Denmark, dated ca 980s AD can be seen here. In fact there is not much remains to be seen, just a gigantic circular defense wall is still recognizable on the large open field near the Aggersund sea channel and Limfiord. Well-presented information signs on the site, as well as a comfortable wooden path around it. There is also a tiny museum built on the premises nearby, with artefacts from the site and artistic representations and explanations about the site. Pleasant short sightseeing, very worth a visit. Entrance is free.

Aggersborg Kirke

Reviewed By Danes55 - Holstebro, Denmark
