The Wolin Island and the Wolin National Park in particular are the best place to go on the Polish Balish coast. The landscapes are stunning, especially steep cliffs and sandy Beaches. There are additional attractions such as the European Bison reserve or the Viking Village in the Wolin town.

We have been there in March and if you like walking on the beach it´s perfect. You´ll meet only very few people and you can easily walk 20km west and around 5km east to the next village Dziwnow.

There is a museum right after the brigde in the entrance way to the city. After seeing the museum, you should go to the archeological-recontruced village. It is nice to walk in and taste the atmosphere of over one thousand years ago. Personell is dressed up in historical cloths, you can eat tradional pancakes and vinking ale (no alcohol). Wooden houses are built like it might have been, the city wall-palllisade, a viking boat for trading purposes and more.

This church "St. John the Baptist’s Cathedral" is a marvelous sight and said to be one of the finest historic buildings in Western Pomerania, I agree. Majestic Romanesque- Gothic architecture from 12th century. And if the architecture isn't enough the organ from mid 1600 is the largest and most beautiful I've seen. I'd recommend to try and visit whilst it is played on. The church is in regular use so it could be during mass, but of course be respectful.

You can see miniatures of Lighthouses from whole coast of Poland and read about its history. Kids can take a ride around whole park on steam train. Dogs are allowed.

Wir haben die Halbinsel Wollin erkundet, und sind auch am " Jezioro Turkusowe"
dem Türkissee vorbeigekommen.
Der Ort heist Wapnica, früher Kalkhofen und gehört heute zur Gemeinde Miedzyzdroje.
Die ehemalige Kalk oder Kreide - Grube, ist eigentlich nur ein Baggerloch, eine ehemalige Industrie - Brache, eigentlich nichts besonderes.
Doch die Natur hat diesen ehemaligen Baggersee zu etwas besonderen gemacht.
Das schöne Aussehen der Wasseroberfläche, das bei Sonnenschein-Wetter so schön türkisfarben aussieht, ist schon ein Naturerlebnis, das man gesehen haben sollte.
Fotografen haben sicherlich ihre Freude an der Farbintensität dieses Gewässers.
Dies noch zur Info:
Der See ist 21,2 Meter Tief. und hat eine Fläche von 6,74 ha.
Ein Wanderweg führt um diesen See herum, nur für Leute die gut zu fuß unterwegs sind geeignet.
Neben dem Parkplatz gibt es eine schöne Gastronomie, die Fischspezialitäten, und natürlich auch andere Speisen und Getränke zu bieten hat.
Eine kostenpflichtige Toilette, für kleines Geld, ist auch vorhanden.
Im Ort selbst, gibt es noch eine ca. 450 Jahre alte Eiche zu bestaunen.
Wenn man bedenkt wie alt ein Mensch wird, was muss dann dieser alte Baum schon alles erlebt haben. Da ist meiner Phantasie keine Grenzen gesetzt.....
An der Straße außerhalb vom Ort liegt das V3-Museum hier wurde die Wunderwaffe aus dem Krieg getestet, die zum Glück, nie zum Einsatz kam.
Polen war damals hier, ganz schön deutsch gewesen.
Heute ist das alles nur noch Geschichte.
Und wir erfreuen uns an dem türkisfarbenen See, ob der damals schon so eine Aufmerksamkeit auf sich gezogen hat.....?

I like this beach because it is a long, clean beach with a great deal of access for only a low parking fee or free if you ride a bike. The view of the Ferries and ships is great and the water, while cool, is nice and clear (where we accessed there were no weeds or trash). Having a hotel on the beach is nice but not really necessary because of the ease of getting access. Bring your lunch and an umbrella as well as your beach towels.

We reached Kawcza after short, 15 minutes walk from the town. The most impressive way to the summit is to climb wooden stairs from the beach.The viewpoint hangs 60 m over the cliff in Wolinski National Park. Great place to escape the noise and crowds of seafront Promenade and to contemplate nature.

Muzeum kamieni mieści sie w starej zabytkowej baszcie. Dojście dobrze oznakowane. Ceny przystępne, preferencje dla kuracjuszy sanatorium. Wewnątrz baszty dobrze zachowane wnętrza, w gablotach bardzo interesująca kolekcja kamieni, minerałów i skamielin, warto zobatrzyć. Ponadto dwa poziomy punktów widokowych. Na najwyższym dostępna luneta. W sklepiku bogata kolekcja minerałów i kamieni za przystępne ceny. Osoby obsługujące posiadają dużą wiedzę. Uzupełnieniem świetnej wycieczki odwiedziny na stronie internetowej oraz bardzo ciekawym blogu. Polecam!
