St.Yura Cathedral

The Cathedral looks huge from the outside and the exterior is beautiful, but it is surprisingly small inside, and quite plain. Didn't spend alot of time there as there really isn't much to see. A photogenic Cathedral, from the outside.

Unfortunately the church was under renovation when we visited but nevertheless you could see many of the vibrant murals - quite stunning. The church is slightly set back fro the road and we walked past a few times before we spotted it. Don't miss it out of your tour as it's well worth a visit.

Lviv City Hall

For those of you that like climbing through tall buildings this is a must.
Things start off well on the sturdy marble stairs of the city hall.
Then one pays an entrance fee to start climbing the wooden stairs of the clock tower.
These stairs then get more irregular and steeper, until one emerges from a cylindrical passage at the top.
Yes, the views are impressive.
But then, one knows one has to make the decent, with some rather large burly characters pushing their way up.

Lychakiv Cemetery

Reviewed By Stuart G - Cambridge, United Kingdom

I’d read in a guide that this was the Père Lachaise of Eastern Europe. It proved to be a most interesting visit which highlighted Ukraine’s past as well as present. There were graves with cyrillic writing, others with names of Polish families and one or two from the Days of the Austrian empire. At one end were hundreds of graves of Poles who had died in the war that took place after World War I. In addition graves from the latest war in Dombas or Donetsk in Eastern Ukraine adorned with photos of the dead soldiers.

Church of the Jesuits

It is still being renovated and the exterior may not be that impressive, but the interior completely surprised me. It is gorgeous and there is so much to see everywhere. The painting is amazing.
Just make sure to read the mass schedule outside - there are quite a few of them in 3 languages and you do not want to disturb them. People seemed to be very devout. However, outside of masses you can just enter, make photos and enjoy.

Dominican Cathedral

Personally I am not into this sort of stuff, but this place amazed me in every way possible. Outside this Cathedral look very very good. My favourite part of the exterior is the main door. They are elegant, beautifullly made and, when you go through them, you feel the great power and significance of this place.
The interior is even more breathtaking!
I recommend going there without a tour. I think that infomation that guides say is not always very useful and their talking distracts from enjoing wonderful surroundings. But that is just my opinion.
Also check out this place in the evening the Illumination outside is marvelous! :)
