Reviewed By MxQueenThe views are simply stunning. The feel of the hotel is a contemporary bolt hole in the middle of a national park. The rooms are big and airy with a great outlook. The breakfasts are so so but could be so much better. The evening meal is good value for money. The hotel staff really do lack any enthusiasm or motivation to provide you with any advice or local knowledge. The cleaning staff are the ones who actually engage and seem the happiest. The hotel currently has work on site for future developments. The overall score would be about 7 out of 10 but could with a few improvements could increase.

Reviewed By vascog389Como habitual em visita a Monsaraz, a Casa d'Santiago é sempre a escolhida... A casa d'Santiago possui todas as comodidades que desejamos quando viajamos. Com 4 quartos, com camas bastante confortáveis e vistas soberbas para a planície alentejana. No pôr do sol é possível admirar tamanha beleza desde a Casa d'Santiago, com toda a calma e tranquilidade que é característica do Alentejo. Possui um jardim onde é possível descansar e apreciar a calmaria, a cozinha possui todos os equipamentos necessários. A localização é excelente, mesmo no centro de Monsaraz, dentro das muralhas. O estacionamento possível é muito perto da Casa, o que se torna uma grande vantagem. Voltaremos, como sempre...

Reviewed By anaaN3382WVOpción inigualable para visitar Sesimbra, viajamos en moto y en 5 minutos llegas a la costa, playas increíbles , seguimos todas las recomendaciones de VICTOR y TERESA el matrimonio que regenta el alojamiento que nos proporcionaron una información del lugar buenísima para no perder detalle aparte de hacernos sentir como en casa . El desayuno , la habitación ,el aparcamiento privado , la tranquilidad de la zona , la piscina , la paz encontrada ... No tiene precio ! GRACIAS ! Totalmente recomendable !!

Reviewed By lisy_11Telefonamos um dia antes para reservar um alojamento familial de dois quartos para três pessoas. O acolhimento foi cinco estrelas! Muita simpatia e bons concelhos na escolha de um restaurante no centro da cidade. Os quartos com decoração simples mas feita com muito gosto e muito acolhedores. Nada a dizer sobre a limpeza nos quartos senão que foi excelente. Próxima vez que irei a Setúbal, e para a Casa 70 que irei. Adorei!

São Lourenço do Barrocal is a hotel and monte alentejano, located in a wild corner of the Alentejo, Portugal, in the foothills of medieval Monsaraz and nearby the Alqueva lake. Within a 780-hectare estate that has been in the same family for over 200 years, it has its heart at an ancient small farming village, which has been brought back to the rhythms of rural daily life as a remarkable hotel of understated luxury, set amidst ancient oaks, olive groves, and vineyards. It comprises a winery for the creation of its first-class single-estate wines, two farm to table restaurants respecting the flavour and simplicity of the food of Alentejo (one of them open from late Spring/ mid Autumn), a farm shop selling Portuguese contemporary crafts, regional delicacies, and the estate’s own produce and a spa by Susanne Kaufmann, the renowned Austrian brand of organic treats. Reviewed By JTearsI stayed here with my sister for one night on while driving from the Algarve to Lisbon. It is serene, understated luxury hotel located in gorgeous location not far Monsarraz. I highly would recommend a stay here on any journey through the Alentejo. What I Liked Overall outstanding accommodations and facilities. The grounds are simply stunning, and everything is "farmhouse chic". They did an outstanding job repurposing the former farm and ranch into luxury accommodation, and anyone in search of five star luxury will not be disappointed. The hotel has extensive grounds with delightful trails to explore the property. Bikes are on offer to make the journey on the longer trails. The restaurant serves really wonderful meals and the service is very polished. What Could Use Improvement I always look for things on which a hotel can improve, in the case of this one, perhaps because of my short stay, I really could not identify any. Overall a very nice stay. Recommendations Do take advantage of the trails around the property. You get to see the local scenery and learn a bit more about the history of the place. Take the short trip up to Monsarraz. It's not heavily featured in many guide books, but it is a beautiful historic town with excellent views and panoramas around the area.

An amazing surprise
Reviewed By DavidFelix1973Placed on a small Alentejo village this guest house will make you want to stay forever. You will stay in a property that was built in 19th century and with all the modern amenities the rooms are kept as if you are back at early 1900's. The staff are the most friendly as it can be. The surroundings are breath taking. You must try the food from the local restaurant and don't forget the red wine. Will without doubt return to stay a little long. José the owner will do everything to make you stay better than home.

In a large secure residential area on 18-holes golf course, we offer 3 double bedrooms each with a complete bathroom for rent in our beautiful house, clear and quiet, which opens onto a large garden with pool. 35 mn from Lisbon airport,10 mn from the charming city of Setubal. Many other sites of the highest interest (beaches, surf spots, Arrabida and Sado natural parks) are easily accessible.
Amazing breakfast & extraordinary hospitality
Reviewed By Navigator25713580876Stephane and his wife run the house, they welcome us and show us everything. It was amazing since we arrived until we leave. We left the room at 12:00 on our check out day and stayed all afternoon outside. Stephane even baked bread for us in the morning and some pancakes. We had a big terrace in the room and bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately it wasn’t soon for the pool but we will definitely come back for it ?

Chalets bem equipados, o pequeno almoço é escolhido na altura do check in e deixado à porta do chalet (pão quentinho e fantástico, bolo, croissants e salame, fruta, leite, sumo, chá e cápsulas de café, manteiga, doce, mel da Herdade, queijo e fiambre). Espaço exterior muito agradável, podemos descansar ou se preferirmos jogar mini golf, ténis de mesa, andar de bicicleta ou a pé pelos trilhos da Herdade. O trampolim fez as delícias das crianças. As pizzas que cozem na Herdade são bem boas e o vinho branco produzido na Herdade que foi deixado no Chalet também (preferimos esse ao tinto). Sem dúvida que vamos seguir o conselho que nos foi dado no check out de voltarmos com mais tempo pois soube a pouco.
