An oasis in the city

If bungalow type accommodation suites you better than high rise, this is the place for you. The location is great, walking distance to many shops and restaurants and pubs (there's lots of those) The bed was super comfortable (even if the room was a tad small) but it was clean and serviced daily and the staff were friendly.

www.tellsomeone who cares

Reviewed By Disapppo

Stayed in the campground during a rare deluge of rain. The red dust turned to liquid mud and we had a river running through our camp. Even though there were machines everywhere owing to the huge amount of new works being installed, no assistance was offered by the resort. They could not control the rain but the lack of assistance was very disappointing. The campground manager simply quipped that he would "have to charge us for water views". When I responded that we would invoice them for the engineering work we had undertaken to save both ourselves and other campers from inundation he replied, "send it to www.tellsomeone who cares". In a nutshell this sums up the attitude of this overpriced resort, for which we paid $50 a night for an unpowered site, with intermittent hot showers, very poor wireless and disinterested staff.

Basic motel accomodation, disappointing.

Reviewed By petervK2047MI

Basic old-style brick motel block with multi-bed cabins. Very dated decor and bathroom facilities within each room I.e. shower screen water proofing and shower tray definitely showing wear of the years. Bed not terribly comfortable, double size for starters = quite tight fit for the two of us literally on the edge of the bed and not good mattresses in terms of firmness. Sign very clearly stated that not having washed our own cups or glasses would attract a $25 per day housekeeping charge - sorry but that is outrageous when paying over $200 per night. Lovely people in the restaurant and reception, very accomodating. Restaurant, Savannah Bar and Restaurant limited but expectable Outback Australian fare, of a high quality and flavour. On the fringes of Katherine, definitely need your own transport to access any alternative restaurants or shops. Good jumping off point to get to Nitmiluk Gorge Cruises plus location to get to Cutta Cutta Caves and other attractions nearby.

lunch cruise review

Reviewed By Alison B

If you are looking for a relaxing day out. This is it. The two hour cruise takes you to Crab Claw Island were a sumptuous buffet seafood lunch awaits. All you have to do is sit down eat and drink. If you want you can swim in one of the two pools after lunch or take a walk or try some beach-side fishing. The three hours of total relaxation, passes way too quickly. The beauty of this cruise is it takes two hours to return to Darwin, time enough for the alcohol to pass through your system, so you can drive home safely afterwards.

Good stay if you're in a pinch

Good location & large portioned delicious food. Service (was given the wrong key and room number at check-in) and cleanliness need a lot of work. There were little bugs everywhere (including in the bathroom and on the bed), and numerous dark spots in toilet.

Very Disappointed

Reviewed By 475donna

This hotel no longer has any kitchen, food, beverage or room service. There is no longer a bar. I was not told of this until after I had checked in at the hotel. The linen service wasn’t operating so the bed only had a bottom sheet and a thin brown blanket on top. No top sheet or extra blanket. I wasn’t told of this prior to check in. Staff were lovely and polite. It’s a shame to see what was once a lovely hotel go downhill. Despite the lack of ammenities they are still charging the same if not higher prices. Guests should be contacted before arrival to let them know of the changes.

Badly in need of renovating rooms

Reviewed By Tishmus

Visited 15 yrs ago with daughter and visited again with my husband in May. Sad to say was given a junior suite 221 the carpets were damp and smelly. Moved to a std room and I accepted as it looked clean. Found the bulbs were fused in bathroom and Kamal replaced them for me.Must mention that the staff were very kind and helpful. Gem and others in restaurant worked hard and food was tasty. The GM Chris Naylor was doing all he could to renovate the rooms, lounge etc and would love to visit Novotel again as I love the location. I was also given a late checkout to 4.00 pm Thanks to all staff Ekana, Kamal two names I remember.

Nice place to quarantine

Reviewed By DisneyDreamsComeTrue

Flew to Alice from Sydney and had to quarantine for 2 weeks. The rooms are nice and large. Having a room with a balcony is also an added bonus. The staff do allow you to leave the room 2x 20 minutes per day for recreational activities (ie walking). You must wear a mask at all times except when in your room or on the balcony. The food at this point in time is nice and a small variety not too much to choose from. Overall I am happy with my experience so far, but maybe by the time I get to day 10 or 11 I am going to be eager to leave.

Really nice camping spot

Reviewed By Molly C

Stayed here in a powered site over 5 years ago and loved it so decided to stay again for a couple of nights. Place is now under new management with skeleton staff but it is still as beautiful and peaceful as it was 5 years ago. The young guy who checked us in when we arrived was really nice and polite and apparently he and his partner will be running the place now. Huge job so wish them well. Pool is nice and refreshing. Toilets and showers are ok and acceptable. The Bamboo walk that we did 5 years ago is closed off, not sure why but can only assume it needs some maintenance and gardening done in that area. Internet here is shocking. It's hit and miss if u get any data, same with phone reception. Some times during the day and evening its slow but accessible, other times its impossible to get anything 5 minutes later. Apparently only Telstra works here. Mozzies are a nightmare there but i still would come back as i love the look of it and all the land and plants and trees on the land. Communication to actually enquire about powered sites and accommodation was ridiculous and in the end we just had to arrive there and hope they had a vacant spot there, so communication really needs to be improved but property is nice.

Simply amazing

Reviewed By Camper62636865497

Our experience at Longitude 131 was flawless. The staff were so much fun and simply made the trip. The trips to the National park were excellent… both educational and fun. The food was absolutely mind blowing. The wine and cocktails simply amazing. The glamorous “tent” was generous and had everything you could need. I can’t speak highly enough about Longitude 131.
