If bungalow type accommodation suites you better than high rise, this is the place for you. The location is great, walking distance to many shops and restaurants and pubs (there's lots of those) The bed was super comfortable (even if the room was a tad small) but it was clean and serviced daily and the staff were friendly.

Not up to Hilton standard

Reviewed By Craigp0017

We stayed 4 nights at the end of our Kimberley Tour. I found the service pleasant but did feel they talk the talk but do not walk the walk, so to speak. A card on the bedside table states Hilton changes the bed linen after the third night unless you request differently. Our sheets were not changed in 4 nights. The notice stuck to the mirror espoused their COVID protocols and surface cleaning practices. Well, there was enough dust on the glass shelves in to write words in. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan and the shower ceiling area had definitely seen better days-peeling paint, mould, etc. I shared the feedback at the desk and was "thanked for the feedback". I shared the feedback in the post stay questionnaire and survey-no response. I was not and am not expecting anything other than an acknowledgement, but they are simply not a 5 star facility charging 5 star rates.

Ok stay, slightly disappointing

Reviewed By Jaimee S

We stayed here last year around the same time for 10 days, we absolutely loved it and how staff and hotel made us feel welcome. We were only entitled to 1 cleaning service but had beyond this (approx 4) and was overall a great stay. Enough to want to stay again this time around. This time we were staying for 14 days. Check in time was prolonged as room wasn’t ready (these things happen). We were asked upon arrival what days best suit for room cleaning, we were happy with whatever and staff suggested Sunday’s as they were sort of in the middle of our stay, all good. It came to Sunday and no clean, thought maybe they were busy and waited until Monday and still nothing so we asked. We were advised they now only clean on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. So they offered to clean the next day. (Only ended up being one clean over the 14 days) We also noticed there were no quilts / blankets on the bed only one thin woven blanket, we found a second in the cupboard but was still quite thin. When we asked for a quilt/ additional blankets they said they have made changes and don’t have them (also a linen shortage) and could only offer a top sheet. While cooking a stir fry one night the steam must have set off the warning fire alarm and we were asked to stop cooking, which made us feel a bit like a burden. All in all, yes the room was nice and stay was okay, it definitely didn’t meet the standards of our last stay and we were disappointed this time around. A shame but will be trying somewhere else next time!

Well located, fantastic staff

Reviewed By Mel_M802

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights while we visited Katherine and the surrounds in March. The motel is well located for accessing Nitmiluk National Park, and also Mataranka for the hot springs in Elsey National Park. The rooms are what you would expect for a motel. They were clean and spacious which was what we were looking for and the AC worked very well. There was a coin laundry with both a dryer and a clothes line which were very helpful given the hot and humid conditions and mid March. We didn't use the pool area but it certainly looked very new and relaxing. The team also included a laminated A3 page with lots of restaurant and other recommendations for guests which was very helpful during our stay. I can see that during peak season parking on-site could prove to be a challenge, but we had no problems during our stay as part of the motel was closed for renovations. There appears to be ample street parking also available close by. We had breakfast included in our room rate which was fantastic. There was a selection of hot items (eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns etc) as well as your typical continental items like cereal, and yoghurt. It set us up for our day out at Katherine Gorge perfectly. The staff at motel/hotel can often either make or break it, and the Pine Tree Model has definitely hit the jackpot with Pauline, Claudia, Chris and the team at breakfast (I didn't get their names unfortunately). They were all lovely, and very helpful with any and all questions we had, and up for a bit of a chat. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend to others looking for somewhere to stay in Katherine.

Spur of the moment booking when we decided to not to travel straight from Uluru to Alice Springs. Glamping on the escarpment was spectacular. The accomodation, food and staff meet and exceeded our expectations. If you want to just relax, get off you phone and sit back enjoying this beautiful land without the crowds this is the place. Food provided was exceptional as was the range of wines and other drinks. on arrival a Full Cheese board is ready to nibble on, the food for the evening meals were high quality. just leave a message when booking if you require a special diet, cooking was easy and facilities top notch. Breakfast supplies could have feed us all day, but all fresh food was provided for the second day. Staff are friendly and always willing to assist. When you read the reviews you need to seperate the different camp sites as they all end up bunched together. The Escarpment Glamping is the one i am reviewing and is 5 stars, i did not use the other facilities so can't comment.

Super location in centre of Darwin

Great location in centre of Darwin, just steps to local cafes and shops. A short walk to the esplanade and views of Darwin harbour also about 15 mins to water front precinct. I’m glad I was not staying in hotels along the esplanade as these are a decent walk from the water front and town. The hotel was clean and tidy, king room was basic but comfortable. Pool is v small and no where to sit and relax, nice for a quick cool down. Staff welcoming and efficient

The old croc needs a mew fit out

Reviewed By LeoH1961

The location is great for staging your day time excursions into Kakadu however the hotel is old and tired. I doubt the the rooms have had anything updated since the original build in 1988. The ensuites in particular are in a poor state. Our shower head sprayed water randomly to one side. The base of the door was rotted out so much that the bottom piece of timber dragged across the tiled floor as it was opened and closed. The only positive comment is the the Raymor Academy 1/4 turn tapware has stood the test of time. We stayed 5 nights and in that time it was serviced 3. The pool was never cleaned. Each day you will find plastic wrappers, cups, Band-Aid’s and anything else the local kids have decide to throw into it. If you want to have dinner at the hotel you must book as preference appears to be given to the bus loads of guests over those travelling on their own. Booking is still not an assurance that they have allocated you a table as we found out. Every night is a buffet. The staff seem to do their best but getting a drink at the bar is chaotic. Even more challenging for most guests seems to be making your own coffee at breakfast. The hotel has 2 amazing Nespresso coffee machines that bewilder most first timers creating a long line waiting for your turn. I understand that there are few other choices if you chose to stay at Jabiru. The hotels can charge what they want but at $350 + per night I expected so much more.

www.tellsomeone who cares

Reviewed By Disapppo

Stayed in the campground during a rare deluge of rain. The red dust turned to liquid mud and we had a river running through our camp. Even though there were machines everywhere owing to the huge amount of new works being installed, no assistance was offered by the resort. They could not control the rain but the lack of assistance was very disappointing. The campground manager simply quipped that he would "have to charge us for water views". When I responded that we would invoice them for the engineering work we had undertaken to save both ourselves and other campers from inundation he replied, "send it to www.tellsomeone who cares". In a nutshell this sums up the attitude of this overpriced resort, for which we paid $50 a night for an unpowered site, with intermittent hot showers, very poor wireless and disinterested staff.

Really nice camping spot

Reviewed By Molly C

Stayed here in a powered site over 5 years ago and loved it so decided to stay again for a couple of nights. Place is now under new management with skeleton staff but it is still as beautiful and peaceful as it was 5 years ago. The young guy who checked us in when we arrived was really nice and polite and apparently he and his partner will be running the place now. Huge job so wish them well. Pool is nice and refreshing. Toilets and showers are ok and acceptable. The Bamboo walk that we did 5 years ago is closed off, not sure why but can only assume it needs some maintenance and gardening done in that area. Internet here is shocking. It's hit and miss if u get any data, same with phone reception. Some times during the day and evening its slow but accessible, other times its impossible to get anything 5 minutes later. Apparently only Telstra works here. Mozzies are a nightmare there but i still would come back as i love the look of it and all the land and plants and trees on the land. Communication to actually enquire about powered sites and accommodation was ridiculous and in the end we just had to arrive there and hope they had a vacant spot there, so communication really needs to be improved but property is nice.
