Great Location

This is hotel is well situated, very close to the Arena as well as the railway station. I was fortunate to be assigned a huge, high ceilinged room with an expansive balcony. Every member of the staff I interacted with was professional, friendly, and helpful, The breakfast room is a bit small but there is a good selection of breakfast items. I can only think of positive things to say about this hotel and highly recommend it for a stay in the beautiful city of Nimes.

We arrived at the airport in Marseille and took the train to Nimes. Be aware, that there are only few direct connections! better you drive first to Avignon, but that takes over 2 hours in total. At the arrival in the hotel we were informed, that we got an upgrade from executive room to a Maison (suite), which of course was fantastic. 120 square meters with huge terrasse, 2 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a table for 8 persons! Our stay was fabulous anyway. The hotel is superb! very old building with lots of history but newly renovated with top standard. Service at breakfast was perfect. Unfortunately we never explored the hotel bar or the 2 michelin star rated restaurant (top in town!). We can higly recommend traveling to Nimes (the Rome of France!) and of course we can also recommend this hotel. It's literally a few minutes away from nearly everything!

What a horrible experience this hotel was. My husband booked the ‘love package’ but the only problem was there was no love in this hotel. We arrived after a long journey from Switzerland and was looking forward to a nice evening, hot bath and a glass of champagne. On arrival the dark haired girl said she didn’t realise we had booked the package- direct with the hotel, by the way. She quickly rushed to get the champagne but forgot the love box.. She said she was so busy having to manage everything but quite frankly as a guest that’s not our problem. She showed us to our room-103 and the first thing I noticed was the black curly hairs in the tub!! I’m very blond, by the way. The bath tub and sink had no plug- I guess to avoid you filling them with water. What a shame.. my advice- stay somewhere that knows how to run a business and treat the guests. The woman and chef had a huge argument when I was walking to my car- thank his I’m only here one night.

OK for a night (just)

This is a more basic hotel than most IBIS Styles, with very minimalist rooms (which I generally like, but all the grey walls without any pictures or anything else to break the monotony is a step too far). Parking is strange, and we wouldn't have got in without the help of someone else. (You need to press a button for a ticket, which is pretty normal, but you also need your park your car precisely in a box painted on the floor for the ticket to dispense.) Then to access your car, you need a bar code printed at reception, every time you want to access the parking area. Will probably find somewhere else next time. The onlt real plus was the staff, who were friednly and efficient.

The bill was 96 euro. The staff charged us 255.- Euro. She didn't manage to book it back on my bank card, so we settled in cash. Then she returned the wrong amount, thinking the breakfast was extra (it was included). Also, she did not even try to speak English, but spoke French very fast although she could see we had no clue what she was saying. She just kept on rattling in French . The garden area was not lit, and pitch dark. Our room had to be reached from outside, via a narrow stairs. In the dark.. The entrance to the hotel was hard to find from the road, the parking lot was full of water poodles. Internet did not work at all. We had to make an appointment for breakfast time. When we arrived at that timing all the tables were dirty, and there was nothing left. Only same old baguette, a couple of bread leaves. No bread toppings, no cups. Not even jam/confiture. The staff/guy did not know what to do. We left, and got a refund for the breakfast (which was 13 euro per person!). It really was our worst hotel stay ever!! And not up to standard of Best Western.

Bien Loin d'Ici is the place for the two of you to elope from it all, to enjoy a special, luxurious quiet and delightful moment. In this guesthouse conceived by designers, you will appreciate the cosiness of a 30m2 (323 sq. feet) lodge with a private deck offering private spa and sauna/hammam and an open outlook on the garden and the swimming pool. You will take pleasure in the peacefulness of the scrubland countryside, far away from the city turmoil and yet only 10 minutes away from Nîmes historical city centre and from the TGV train station. On site, you will be able to enjoy your own private spa and sauna, a swim in our 20-meter long overflow pool and a cocktail in the shade of the old-stone pool-house, the "Cabanon". In the morning, a freshly prepared continental breakfast will be served on your deck at your convenience. You can also leave your car behind and go for a ride with our complimentary bicycles: The city of Nîmes, "Little Roma", and its unique Roman buildings is a must-see, only 5 km away. If you'd rather stay uphill you can ride through the pristine "garrigue" (Mediterranean scrubland) surrounding the area. If you feel like going out for a whole day, our guest house is surrounded by major tourist spots such as the Pont du Gard (a huge and fully standing Roman aqueduct), the Camargue (a marshland nature reserve by the sea), R. L. Stevenson's Cévennes mountains, the medieval cities of Uzès and Baux de Provence, Van Gogh's Arles (also a major Roman landmark) and the papal city of Avignon. At the end of the day, you'll be glad to find yourself in your cocoon, in the middle of nature.

Paradise in Nimes

Reviewed By rachelrY8616LA

We spent 4 of the most romantic nights here in June and to say that it far exceeded our expectations is an understatement. Manuel could not have been more helpful. We stayed in the Volupté eco-lodge which was SO comfortable, the sheets are so soft and the pre-made playlists on the ipad really help with the ambiance! We had a jacuzzi and sauna on our terrace which was right beside the glorious pool. On our first night Manuel organised for a local Chef to come and prepare dinner on our terrace, which was a godsend as we were tired on arrival. The breakfast's each day were delicious, especially the mango jam. Nimes is only a 10 minute drive and offers a wide range of wonderful restaurants and shops. We were so sad to leave and cannot wait to return.

Hotel is set in a 17th century townhouse with French painted ceilings in some of the guest rooms; an open central square court.

This hotel is definitely a contender for "best staircase" award! Our room is warm and comfortable. We had TV and radiator issues, which our young receptionist worked hard and cheerfully to resolve. Don't let the cheerless aspect of the street put you off, the interior of Hôtel du Marquis de Baume is lovely. Good value!
