Hotel Castrum Villae by Walk Hotels

Peneda-Geres is the only National Park in existence in Portugal. The mountainous protected area is located in the north part of Portugal and it is a transboundary protected area with Xures Nature Park, Spain. Founded in 1971, it covers an area of 72,000 hectares and has an extraordinary diversity of climate, environments and scenery. Having once been the home of the brown bear and the mountain goat, Peneda-Geres is today one of the last refuges of the great predators, such as the wolf and the royal eagle. The magnificent Peneda-Geres National Park is a wild and dramatic place consisting of two main mountain ranges Peneda and Geres with rural villages scattered around. An important feature of the landscape is the constant presence of water because of proximity Atlantic Ocean. Brooks and waterfalls are common at every mountain slope and the park is crossed by several rivers. The PGNP is situated in a rough mountain region usually above 700 metres high, going over 1500 metres high in Nevosa (Serra do Geres). The predominance of granite rocks accounts for both the rough relief and the bare character of the hills, as seen in the cliffs, troughs, blocks and ball shaped granite rocks. Whether you want to relax in the clean mountain air, take in the wide range of flora and fauna or take part in extreme activities, Peneda-Geres National Park is an amazing place to visit.

Most disgusting and unhealthy accomodation I've been

Reviewed By Leonor S

Terrible 3* Hotel, I've never paid so much for such a terrible accomodation, cleaning conditions are disgusting, it does not even reflect a developed European country, for sure inspection does not come to such remote place to evaluate the conditions of this hotel. Dust on the headrest of the bed, an empty bottle of water left under the desk from previous clients, rusty toilet bin, mold on every walls, spiderwebs on the windows, peanuts on the table of the bar at 08:00 opening time, and so on!!!!! This is disgusting unbelievable!!

Modest hotel, Reasonable value for the money

Reviewed By Eran S

My wife and I stayed at hotel Miracastro for one night during our tour to North Portugal. the hotel is well located in the small village offers a fantastic view. However, there is nothing much to do in the village and the few people we met were walkers who made daily tracks in the surrounding.. It is a two floors hotel, very clean, simple rooms all have nice view. The staff we met hardly spoke English but we managed. We were interested in a meal upon our arrival but since the restaurant was empty and we were not sure about the food, we have decided to go out and had a meal in a nearby hotel restaurant where we met other people and the atmosphere was much more lively and nicer. Breakfast was disappointing as it was minimal with bread and jam and a couple of pieces of cheese and a couple of slices of ham. In summary, very modest hotel, much below other places we stayed during our trip in Portugal. Reasonable value for the money.

A haven of peace in the centre of Lisbon’s castle

Reviewed By Aileenmah

This hotel is expensive but well worth it if you’ve only got a few days in Lisbon. You’re within the castle walls so when the hordes disappear it’s beautifully peaceful. Decor in the room and communal areas beautiful and the terrace was especially lovely. Only downside was chap on reception when we stayed knew little about the area and offered to book restaurant for us but didn’t bother to tell us they were full until we asked! For over £300 a night this is not good enough but would still give 5 stars.

Relaxante e diferente

Reviewed By Connector19652289981

Demasiado caro para as condições

Reviewed By MoraisNovo
