Hotel was Okay

Reviewed By Tracey M

We stayed here because it was MSU graduation and all hotels were booked. The hotel was okay, pretty average, but not bad. Breakfast was served only until 9:30 on a weekend, which was a disappointment as IGH typically serves breakfast until 10 am on weekends. The hotel was average, not worth the $250 charged per night because of a graduation weekend. Overall the hotel was acceptable.

Traveling with the Pups

We spent two nights with our dogs. The place was great for dogs, hard wood floors, vinyl seat on the couch. Large bathroom and shower. Very clean! We were in a ground floor room so it was easy to get in/out with the dogs. They have a large lawn for the dogs to go potty outside. The room was very basic, no coffee pot ( but coffee in the lobby) or anything like that. But we just needed a clean place to sleep at night and this was perfect. The walls and floors are very thin. It can be loud if you have noisy neighbors or a herd of elephants above you like we did.

Springs sticking out of mattress Hot tub down for repairs bonfire closed for good cracks in the whirl pool that we’re deep and black with mold. Room furniture looked like it had been scratched. This was a romantic stay that was so far from romantic due to the seedy appearance of this king suite.

Way Above & Far Beyond

While traveling down from Shakopee on 169 to visit my ninety-four-year-old in Southern Minnesota, I have likely stayed in 65% to 75% of the hotels in the area. This time around, I found myself staying for the first time at the Courtyard Marriott in Mankato. I always found a way to talk myself out of spending the extra $30-$40 before this trip because it seems like there can’t be much of a difference. It turns out this is likely the nicest hotel in town and offered best value many times over. I want to especially thank ANTANIA, at the front desk, for allowing me to check-in early. On top of that she comped me a drink ticket for later! (I don’t know if that combo has actually ever happened in my life before.) ANTANIA reminded me that value is contained in our experiences and there is no doubt that COURTYARD MARRIOT has added more value toward recharging my life batteries than any five other hotels in this area combined. I’ll be be staying at the Courtyard Marriott from now on when I stop in Mankato. I recommend this place over any other hotel in this area because it is the best in every way possible.

COVID is never going a away; start acting like it

Reviewed By F2894MGmichaelg

This was a very frustrating stay. I travelled for business. When I checked in, despite booking directly with the hotel with my Hilton Honors number, they did not recognize my diamond status at check in. I specifically asked for the daily credits when I arrived. (I prefer the old free breakfast benefit by the way, but not the hotel's fault that was changed.) The room was clean and nice, but missing many items. There was no water (Mankato, MN city water is terrible). There was no pen and paper. These are standard hotel items. COVID is never going away, so there is zero excuse not to offer these other than cost savings. Even worse, they did not offer daily room service, never told me that would be the case, and never even offered to refresh towels, etc. At checkout, they did no apply my daily room credits for diamond. Come on; get your act together and quit using COVID as an excuse to offer terrible service.

We booked the entire Moulin Rouge when we gathered to celebrate our nephew's graduation. This beautify restored B&B provided the perfect amount of comfortable sleeping space for our multi-generational family (6 total) and we enjoyed the wonderful common areas; our mornings on the side porch and evenings in the parlor. What really made the stay exceptional were the innkeepers, Kristin and Chris. They were incredibly welcoming, organized, friendly, and accommodating. We highly recommend ordering the weekend breakfast! We have stayed in many B&Bs and this has been our best stay by far.

I stayed there once before it is beautiful inside but not worth dealing with the management when I checked out the manager checked the room and then came out yelling about a towel he was going to charge me $100 for it because there was a stain on it. One of the worst in Mankato
