Reviewed By motohighMy usual hotel in Briancon was closed so I tried Mont-Brison. Glad I did. The room was small but very comfortable, with a balcony too. Bathroom drying racks took care of my rain-soaked gear. Free parking in an interior courtyard, and motorcycles welcome. Loved the bread served at breakfast.

Convenient modest but comfortable hotel
Reviewed By Jean MNot bad even if my room was rather small and unpractical. For the rest it was clean an quiet, bedding was good and price soft. Pretty good breakfast as well. So overall a good choice and a good location as well as the hotel is in between the lower and higher towns. Note that nobody’s there after 8 PM for check in, but they have a box system and communication was good.

Reviewed By Tim SNice new bathroom but stained shower cubicle and strong smell of sewage! Carpet from the late 70s and badly stained aircon and heater controls don’t work, confirmed by staff with a shrug. Place appears empty, not bad value and good location. You have to drive through a supermarket car park to access which is odd Better hotels out there. Avoid

You are right in the center of town with a river view or city view. You stay here because it is right in town, with nice updated rooms. Park in town in garages

Great place for a stop if you are heading to Italy. Rooms have a nice view. Con: bathroom could’ve been cleaner. Some brown parts between the tiles. Outdated. But.. it ís a 2 star hotel, so you know what you’re up to. Very decent, nice hotel. Staff was helpfull as well!!

Bad customer service
Reviewed By benjaminaleksandercBad customer service. Due to the fact that one of the guests is in the icu for covid we had to cancel our reservation. We already paid 3000 and more euros and the person on the phone (apperently a manager) didnt even let us talk, he was only repeating that we didnt comunicate anything before hand, thing that we did via booking. Apart from the economical loss and and the lack of empathy from the personal, we had to feel sorry for the hotel because they were not able to rent out the apartment even though it was already fully paid. Shame on you

Reviewed By 966matshThe worst service we have ever experienced - and we have travelled quite a bit. We booked the hotel 6 months in advance and the hotel confirmed the booking. Then, when we sat in the transfer taxi with one hour left to the hotel they cancelled our reservations (all 5 rooms) and said the hotel was over-booked. The only hotel available was 110 km from Briancon - which costed us 500 euros in additional transfer costs that evening plus an additional 150 euros to get back to Briancon by train the following day. We also missed a full day of skiing - and unfortunately we had already rented skis and bought ski-passes. If we got even a simple apology? - no...

Saving the Best for Last
Reviewed By rhornad1Le Bacchu Ber was the last stop for three couples making a two week grand loop from MXP to the Italian Riviera to Monaco to the Côte d’Azur to Provence and back through the Alps to MXP. This B&B which is located just outside the historic village of Briancon was the highlight of our two week self guided tour. Georges and Maria were the ultimate host and hostess for our one night stay. Our three unique rooms were all newly reconstructed in this 300 year old farmhouse-turned-ski-gite. The interior space features post and beam construction fully paneled with tongue and grove siding and trim all in a warm Tamarack/Larch wood. There was no problem parking our nine passenger van onsite. We opted to partake in the table d’hote dining that evening and what a fabulous meal it was. Home cooked by Maria and served by Georges, the meal consisted of appetizers, multiple warm breads and rolls, a main course of pork shank, a cheese plate with a variety of six local hard and soft fromages and a chocolate lava cake for dessert. Each course was accompanied with aperitifs, wine and digestives. You know it’s homemade and really good when the host and hostess eat with you! The breakfast next morning was equally impressive, set in front of a warm fireplace. Breads, rolls, yogurt, meats, cheeses and made to order eggs....what a feast! The room rates were extremely reasonable (including breakfast) and the entire dinner was only €35 pp including all of the drinks. In two other locations we stayed during our trip the equivalent dinner was €65 pp....what a great deal! I would most highly recommend and would definitely consider returning
