Perfect location in a modern hostel

Reviewed By aswisstravellerCH

We stayed there for three nights and enjoyed its proximity to the vieille ville and all the beauty Bordeaux has to offer. The common areas are spacious, modern and clean. The room we stayed in (mixed dorm, 6beds) was tidy, the beds comfy but for sure the dorms are very small but for a city trip you don’t need more as you’re mostly out exploring places anyway. We ate breakfast there two times: you get a juice, a hot drink& a croissant for 4€! We would definitely recommend this hostel!

Five out of Five for this great, friendly, accommodation!

Visited the Rider's Rest May 2022 as part of trip down through France and stayed 3 nights. Rob and Mandy were great hosts and do "go the extra mile" to ensure you have a great stay. Lovely clean rooms, and facilities great (including a pool). Food was spot on too. So definitely 5 out of 5 for the whole stay and look forward to going there again. Thanks very much Rob and Mandy.

Auberge de Jeunesse Biarritz

In Biarritz, European capital of surfing, you will feel privileged at the Youth Hostel. Moderne, comfortable, welcoming, and user-friendly, it offers a large choice of sport and cultural activities. It couldn't have a better setting. Located near all means of transportation, it is a gateway to the Basque hinterland. Hiking is definitely on the menu - You'll be at the foot of the Pyrenean Mountains, and on Spain's doorstep. Many pilgrims have a stop at the YH before starting the coastal path, also called "El Camino Frances", leading to Santiago de Compostela. This YH is located in a Natura 2000 protected area, on a lake shore, and very close to Biarritz Ocean / la Cite du surf, the biggest European Surfing and Marine museum.

Friendly hostel

I stayed here with two friends. I was very impressed with the service of the two staff I interacted with. They were personable and eager to be of service. The room was very clean. Breakfast could have been a little better, as there wasn't any gluten free options of food available. Nice hostel though.

Simply brilliant way to start the Camino

Reviewed By 429charliep

I could not imagine a better way to start the Camino - Joseph (and Flor) made us so welcome and gave us so much advice and help. We really appreciated the sense of the wider pilgrim family and it was a joy to meet our fellow Beilari on every walking day afterwards. We probably talked about our Beilari stay, and what it meant, each day. Also excellent location, great dinner (vegetarian) and breakfast Thank you Joseph - Charlie, Richard, Sid & Frank

The Surf House is ideally located a short 500m stroll to the beach, and a leisurely bike ride to all of Hossegors hot spots. The most amazing place ever

Reviewed By therearenouserames

Located just a short bike ride away from a lovely beach, the Southwest Surfhouse is the perfect place to be if you’re looking to relax as much as possible in a short amount of time. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the food is unbelievable. They provide both breakfast and dinner, and there’s plenty of excellent spots in the area where you can grab a tasty lunch (my personal favorite was this little restaurant/beach bar called Le Surfing). Hossegor is perfect for advanced surfers (the waves are fantastic!) and for beginners alike, as the local surf school offers great lessons (just ask Raff about it). Amongst the more unusual albeit exciting activities you can count the weekly football games, the ice cream runs and, for the more daring souls, the bridge jumps. Be sure to check out their merchandise corner, where you can find numerous goodies (I can vouch for them and say they’re super comfortable and durable). I want to thank everyone at the house for making my summer a truly memorable one and I look forward to coming back next year!

Very cool

Reviewed By Beat93

It was my first time in a Auberge and at Bordeaux and I really liked. The best things: the auberge's location, the personal (kind and helpful) and the rooms because at the one I stayed it has their own bathroom and it was great. Also the atmosphere was cool and safe. The only thing that should be better will be the breakfast, some days the bread was stiff and the personal wasn't kind
