Reviewed By interzoneWe loved everything. From the great and very profissional welcome to the the last detail. Historical property run by three lovely sisters who provide you an authentic experience of portuguese hospitality, that is sometimes hard to find in a fastfood tourism world. I very much recommend this familiar and cosy hotel for its great location and beauty and quality of the staff and services. Room 17 was excelent, great mattress for our sored backs, hot water with great pressure in the shower and an amazing view to the Vouga river. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was excellent. I simpley adored talking a bit with those amazing ladies. One of them told me the history of the hotel and one took me on a "guided tour" to see some old postecards and photos. Thank you so much, we had a great time and you three are definitely ambassadors of portuguese heritage, that we need so much to protect and share.

A collection of vintage cars and boats are the passion of the owner who is pleased to share with his guests. The nature that enfolds this space is extraordinary and it invites walks to discover the grounds and the gardens.

Base de duche cheia de ferrugem, impossível tomar banho de manhã, pois não há água quente, cabine de duche com dificuldade em abrir portas. Frigorífico desligado, roupeiro com armazenamento de molduras antigas no topo. Únicos pontos favoráveis do quarto, deixaram aquecedor a óleo ligado para não se sentir frio. Jardim muito descuidado sem corresponder ao que se apresenta no TripAdvisor e outros, piscina parece um lago verde, só faltam os patos. Penso que é um local com muito potencial, pois tem tudo para ser transformado num belíssimo AL, muito bem localizado e com estacionamento gratuito. A nota máxima que podemos dar foi a simpatia da senhora, dona do local, mas em nada sobrepõe a tudo o resto que foi dito.

Reviewed By tomalafreskinhoThis place as an enormous potencial but sadly it ends up being just average. You should be aware that they have two distinct accomodattions. One is agro-turism and is called Quinta do Pendão and the other goes by the name of Hotel Rural Palácio. Isn´t just the name that is different. On the first one you should expect stone walls, old furniture, spider webs and bugs and the cleaningness of the rooms is just not fine, especially the bathrooms that had all kind of hairs, left by the previous guests. The other ones are just so different. You stay at a home, cozy and warm. The rooms are old but that´s where the beauty relly. Everything starting from the decoration and ending up in the ceiling gives you the ideia of staying in a castle. But you also should be aware that someting that we´ve find is that the cleaningness of this rooms was also poor (more hairs and garbage left by the previous guests). We get to know both Quinta do Pendão and Hotel Rural Palácio because we had a voucher from "A Vida é Bela" and we choose this Hotel because of the amazing photos that we´ve saw and that belongs to Hotel Rural Palácio. Once we´ve arrived, they handed us the key to our bedroom and the problems began: cold room and poor cleaningness (not what we´ve expected). After talked to the owner, she was very compreensive and explained to us that the company that sells the vouchers choose the photos, after that she agreed on give us another room, but this time at Hotel Palácio. The breakfast is simply the poorest that i ever encountered. Only bread, two slices of ham and a few more of cheese for two persons. You have jelly and butter too. To drink, coffee, milk and orange juice. Forget about the toast, eggs or something more. People can enjoy old accomodations because of the beauty and the history that it holds, but they shouldn´t return to basics with just a bread and a slice of ham and cheese. Another anoying fact is that the seats are set depending on the rooms. I think it´s just awkward to share the same table with another couple. Bye-bye privacy. That was not our case because we had a late breakfast but i can imagine the situation. The other major problem is that you can forget a reception. It simply not exists. Everytime that you need something you have to find a phone that are scattered all over the hotel or in your room and dial 9 to speak with someone. After that you need to go to the owner house that is on the Hotel Rural Palácio. Between the two hotels you can find a lounge room where you can watch tv, play many games like snooker, chess, etc, for free. That´s the good news. I was inclined to rate this as poor, but mostly because of the understanding and the sympathy of the owner that also gave us precious info on the surrondings and made us a personal guide to visit the most amazing places, i rate it as average. Take all of this in mind when choosing if you want to stay here, and personally i don´t recommend Quinta do Pendão to anyone. But Hotel Rural Palácio is another story. Maybe you have more lucky than we did and the rooms are cleaner. If you don´t mind to take your breakfast with a couple of strange people and don´t mind to call the owner everytime you have an issue, than Hotel Rural Palácio is just the place for you. Otherwise, search in the surrondings for another Hotel.

Para os amantes das caminhadas, em plena Serra da Freita, existe um percurso circular lindíssimo de 14km que passa na própria quinta, um rio a 1km, um tanque enorme de agua cristalina onde podemos tomar banho e arvores seculares. Nas despedidas todo grupo disse ao Joao um até breve, pois é daqueles sitios onde todos queremos voltar...

Reviewed By Carlos AAlojamento muito simpático. Decoração simples e com muito bom gosto. Confortável e acolhedor. Com todas as comodidades que se pode exigir. Pequeno almoço divinal com frutas acabadas de apanhar e sumo de laranja acabado de espremer. A simpatia da dona é inexcedível com um bolo acabado de fazer a noite acompanhado de chá de Lucia lima acabada de apanhar. Limpeza irrepreensível. Um local a repetir e a recomendar.
