Great little property

Reviewed By JimFinPortland

I'm not going to write a long review A newly renovated small hotel inside a bigger building. I think this fits the "Hostal" (not "Hostel") category for Spain. About two-thirds of the rooms are in a hallway accessed from the high side of the building and about one-third of the rooms are on the floor below in the back accessed from the outside. Each apartment was like a typical four star hotel room with the addition of a kitchen wall. Everything was nice, clean, quiet, and comfortable. I especially liked the individual heat pump (climate control) for the room. It's conveniently located about a 10 minute walk from the train station and just a five minute walk to the main tourist attraction (Roman theatre/amphitheatre combo). Merida has a small walkable core area with most of the sightseeing close by. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this property. We enjoyed our 2 night stay very much. My only caution is that it is a small property (<20 rooms) and doesn't have the amenities of a larger property that some people might expect (no 24 hour lobby, breakfast, business center, etc.).

Excellent budget choice.

La Flor is a good choice of accommodation whilst visiting this fascinating city. It's well located, close to everything of interest. Very close to the train station but a trek from the bus station. Staff were mostly friendly and welcoming. You can get breakfast which is basic but filling. I was leaving before breakfast hours after my second night so they packed me some cakes and pastries to take with me. I had a ground floor room. It was clean and pleasant. Nicely decorated. Whilst there wasn't a party going on in reception, it was a bit noisy being on this floor. I would recommend requesting a room upstairs. I later read this tip in the LP but by then it was too late. As mentioned, it's well located. Many of the main ruins are close by. As are restaurants and everything else you might need.

Perfect pet friendly hotel at the edge of town

Reviewed By samsung131

Small hotel set on the edge of town, nice room, a bit on the small side but perfectly adequate and super clean. Secure parking at the end of the block that leads under the hotel, normally €8 a night but was reduced to €5 as a special offer. Pets accepted at €8 a night. Continental breakfast was included in the room rate and was served on a tray to your room at the time you specify when checking in. We paid extra for a room with a terrace which was great for the breakfast. No evening meal but there is a good tapas bar within half a block (straight forward over the crossing outside the hotel and then half a block on the other side of the street). Snack & drink machines including coffee & beer available in reception. Disliked · It was a bit far from the main sites of Merida, about a 30 minute walk which we didnt tackle as it was over 40 degrees. I'm sure that would be possible in cooler temperatures and we will return in the autumn to try it.

Simple but well located to visit Mérida.

Reviewed By Ray V

We visited Mérida during the Easter holidays and this small hotel was very good for walking around the city. It was easy to find and I could park and leave the car a short distance away. If you want to walk, the Acueducto de los Milagros is a short block away and the Roman theater a longer 20 minute walk. During the summer it might be too hot to brave the walk so you might have to drive in closer. Our room was small but clean. Breakfast was simple but adequate for us. Considering the rates it is a good option.

Great place to stay in Merida - exceeded expectations

Reviewed By LexiSpain

This GH is fabulous! Very reasonably priced and the room and bathroom were both great. Very comfortable beds (Twin Room) and the bathroom had everything you´d need and expect. Both room and bathroom were spotlessly clean too. The staff was very friendly and helpful recommending places to eat. Easy to park nearby as it is a quiet area, but its ideal location means its a short 5-10 minute walk to get to the bars/restaurants. The amphitheatre is just literally around the corner. Would definitely stay here again :-)

Easy stopover

Reviewed By rothesayUK

For a one night stopover between Madrid and the south coast, this place is ideal. Within 5-10 minutes walk of the plaza and the Roman ruins, the hotel also offers secure parking for €10. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and reasonably priced. The only negative is that the walls are thin so there was a little noise early morning when people were moving around. No big deal for us. Room was clean with TV. Would return.
