It is the administrative center of the Zaporizhia Oblast (province). Administratively, it is incorporated as a city of oblast significance and serves as an administrative center of Zaporizhia Raion, though it does not belong to the raion. Currently the city is the sixth largest in Ukraine.

We visited here the first time after rejecting two other establishments due to the disinterested and rather rude staff we encountered. I will never really understand why so many hired staff in this part of Ukraine can't be bothered to woo customers, especially English speaking ones that are likely to offer good tips for good food and service. In the end we were happy to discover this unique place that offers their name signature craft beer, oven fired pizza, and a nice selection of salads, starters, and entrees. After our first visit, we returned a few nights later, and spent St. Patrick's Day evening here as well.

Was their for a little festive dinner. The place was full. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere . Elaborate tapas, quite basic meat and potatoes skillet, overpriced beer. No house wine, unfortunately. Scenic Spain documentary on TV screen. Not authentically Spanish bar, alas.

We're visiting this place when we're walking around Khortiza. Quite picturesque place with folk pop music and friendly staff. We're ordering only desserts with tea or compote though. Everything is fresh and tasty.

Was here 1st of January. Very comfortable place with good design and warm atmosphere.Have tried salmon pie, chicken pie and cheesecake. Free selection of sauces in da house, what is great.To drink we stopped by mulled wine and latte.I am pretty happy to get my food and drinks fast after NY night and to see smiling team members of the place.By the way this is a self-service cafe.

The restaurant is small and quaint, specializing in Ukrainian food. What I found nice was the option of a family room which is closed off from the rest of the restaurant for a quiet family dinner. Service was good and the food, if you have a taste for Ukrainian cuisine, was good.

We dined here in January: fast service, accomodating waiters - and apparently a great chef! The cooking of three meals took around 30 minutes, but it was well worth the wait! Beef medaillons with potatoes stuffed with vegetables were amazing! My wife ordered a steak (we're both zealous meat-eaters) and enjoyed it thoroughly. The dessert wasn't so great, but in the meat department "Traktir" is both great and affordable. The interior might seem a bit mismatching and even pretentious, but it does the job of creating an atmosphere of an early XX century Russian tavern. All in all, I definitely recommend this restaurant for those who enjoy a juicy meat steak!
