We just happened to find this place by accident, and were really impressed by the tasty pastas and high quality sushi. I know it seems like an unusual pairing but if you have kids it really works. They also have quite a variety of deserts and fancy coffees. Highly recommend this place if you are in the neighbourhood!

We were heading back towards isawa onsen after grape picking and visiting the wine center nearby. Saw a lot of cars coming in and out of this old japanese house, and decided to stop by. The restaurant serves mainly houtou noodles and horse sashimi. We ordered the houtou noodles, normal size ( there are bigger size if you are into houtou noodles). Im not a fan of thick noodles( these are similar to udon but flatter),but taste wise, the broth was good. The ambiance of this place was nice, set in an old 130 year old japanese house.just be prepared to wait long for your houtou, as cooking time seems to take quite a while.

Really enjoyed this restaurant/izakaya. Large Manu spanning from yakitori, sashimi, to Japanese/ Chinese food, but I think the main thing here is a soup dish called Houtou. Miso based noodle soup with bunch of vegetables including pumpkin. I liked the Chicken Abalone one. A local hangout.
