Reviewed By jaeseahchifanEnjoyable exterior greenery,interior wise is very cosy, big windows, wooden furniture, room is very spacious n has relatively high ceiling, big windows to enjoy the scenery, washroom in the guest room is very clean and spacious too. There's a balcony to enjoy the magnificent mountain views.Outside the room , there's a water dispenser with hot, warm n cold drinking water. At night, on the accessible rooftop you can see a sky full of stars. Breakfast is provided w a home made feel, free laundry services are available as well. There's also 2 complimentary shuttle service included. The owners are wonderful host, accommodating and friendly. Overall, a wonderful guest experience:)

Basic but good hotel in the middle of Taroko National park

Don't come here for the good food but for the views, the proximity to trails and stunning and beautiful nature. Rooms have everything you need but are nothing fancy, value for money. Staff is very nice. Would stay here again!

Excellent Stay at Taroko
Reviewed By RL_ExplorerTaroko Mountain Dream Homestay really made you feel home as Sofia and family are just superb! Location is close to Xincheng train station of about 5 - 10 minutes drive and Sofia will pick you up from the station! You’re just welcome by her very warm smile. Her hubby is also very nice but I forget to ask for his name. They run this Homestay by her family and you’ll for surely enjoy your stay with them, friendly and very lovely couple indeed! You could feel that they love Hualien and the nature! That’s contagious! The room was very clean and tidy. We chose Japanese style bedroom which was nice! You could tell Sofia and family are very much welcoming as we met an Indian couple which came back again in 2nd year travel to Taiwan, also another family. If not with a nice host, I believe you won’t have repeated guests. Location as I mentioned was convenient, it’s also close to Taroko National Park entrance which is close to an easy trail, Shakadans. 5 minutes drive from Mountain Dream Homestay and of course, they drive you there and give you some suggestions if you have no idea what to do. Highly recommended and you’ll love it.

Nice, well located B&B
Reviewed By SmilyBergenFamiliy of four stayed for three nights while visiting Taroko. The B&B is close to the park entrance and the bus stop is right outside. Our room was nice, clean and of good size. The aircon was good, lots of hot water in the shower. Right by the street, but we slept well. Breakfast was average but OK. Close to some restaurants but we ended up buying food at the 7/11 and ate it aoutside the B&B since we never figured out the opening hours of the restaurants (closes early..?). The management does not speak much English, but they do their best to help. Booked taxies, draw maps, provided cutleries for the food +++ Rates and location are good.

But this B&B is great First impression is strange because your in the middle of nowhere and the street to the location is far from attractive. One you arrive and see the location and sit in the balcony with a good whiskey, you understand who its rated so high Its just fantastic

Charming family run place
Reviewed By LATyrrellThe joy of this place are the people who own it. A really interesting family- aboriginal family native to Taroko gorge who give you a completely different perspective on the gorge and life in taiwan. They were wonderful hosts who took us out for breakfast to a local place we would never have found alone, showed us where to eat, cooked us an amazing cny meal (complete with mountain boar they had hunted themselves), and toured us around their township including a visit to a school teaching traditional weaving techniques to the young generation. They were very friendly and generous, watching my mother cook western food- wanting to try it, learn from us, teach us things. The hostel had been entirely built by the couple, and they are adding more rooms. If you don't have your own transport this would not be a convenient place to stay but if you do, then do consider this for your taroko gorge trip!
