We were simply walking along and passed this restaurant. It looked nice and the customers inside seemed to be enjoying their food and having lively discussions. We decided to join them. Are we glad we did! I had the beef and it was some of the most amazing I had while in Switzerland. The owner/chef came out and visited with all the patrons. He was entertaining and it made for a wonderful overall dining experience. It was like he selected and prepared each meal for the individual. Have to say it was one of my favorite meals in the 10 days I was in the country. Merci beaucoupâ

Vinoteca provides a great opportunity to taste plenty of local wines accompanied by a plate of bread, cheese and sausage. Before wine tasting there is an excellent video presentation explaining the full wine making process from vine to shelf. If my memory serves me right a package of three wine samples costs 13CHF and generous plates of cheese and sausage cost about the same. These plates are more than enough for two people.

This restaurant is on the ground floor of the Hotel Helvetie. It was very busy on the evening of our visit, mainly younger people and apparently local. I enjoyed my local fish dish, which was delicious, and my husband tucked into his Linguini. For desert I had Café Gourmand - highly recommended as it provided a taster of 4 different deserts and a coffee. My husband opted for tiramisu but felt it was lacking in coffee flavour. We had been warned in advance about the cost of eating in Switzerland and this was one of the most expensive meals on our trip.
