Wenn man in Myanmar während seiner Rundreise schon den ein oder anderen Hühnerspieß probiert hat, der weiß dass diese nicht mit Thailand mithalten können. Aber hier im Bistro 29 ist das ganz anders. Selten eine so leckere Erdnusssoße gegessen mit Spießen, die zwar länger dauern, aber jede Wartezeit wert sind. Schön mariniert und gebraten und nicht fritiert. Die Erdnusssoße ist homemade und wird jedes Mal frisch zubereitet, sodass sie auch noch warm ist beim Servieren. Nicht erschrecken lassen sieht eher aus wie ein Bikertreff. Die Pommes mussten zwar zweimal frittiert werden, da beim ersten Mal noch viel zu lasch, aber nach dem zweiten Durchgang echt lecker. Der Koch ist auch sehr nett und die Bedienung auch. Dieses Bistro gibt es wohl noch nicht sehr lange in Kalaw.

I stumbled upon this place because I had seen the signs to it and decided to follow them. It's a gorgeous farmhouse with a daily changing menu. And for a very reasonable price you get a tremendous amount of freshly prepared Myanmar food - different regions each day. The owners are delightful and kind people. And I had an all vegan meal and that was no problem at all.... and I had just shown up. The farm itself is gorgeous too. This has to be a must when in Kalaw.Thank you very much for spending your precious time to review us. We would like to see you again when you visit Kalaw.for the next time.

Came here by the recommendation of a staff from our hotel and was NOT disappointed! Enjoyed every dish (Thai) in the order from my favourite - Chicken with Hot Basil, Chicken with Mala, Morning Glory/Watercress and traditional scrambled eggs.Being it is quite cold outdoors - the restaurant provides coal heating under your table! The staff were wonderful and spoke very good English as well. Treat yourself :)

We were craving some more western food and we decided to come here as the decor was simple but attractive! The menu offers a wide selection of food from Thai, Burmese and western. We ordered fish & chips and a yummy chicken Kiev! Or was delicious! The drinks were also yummy! I highly recommend this place specially if the next day you are off fir a trekk!
