This restaurant offers up a mix of Korean and Japanese fare, and also has a sushi bar. We ordered some Korean entrees, and they were fresh, flavorful, and was nicely presented. What was excellent was the bowl of sashimi and vegetables mixed in with rice. It made for a generously portioned and satisfying entree of which I was impressed. That is definitely an entree I'll be ordering on a regular basis on future visits. The short ribs(galbi) was reasonably good, but lacked the fire grilled, charred taste that really makes korean short ribs amazingly good. I was expecting better for that kind of Korean beef entree. On the upside, the appetizer and entrees were nicely presented. Overall, it was a very satisfying and pleasing dinner to have on a rainy weekend evening.

I live in the area (not a tourist in other words) and after reading reviews on Umi I decided to give it a try. Itâs located in the heart of the tourist area of the Yorktown Riverwalk and is one of several dining choices in the area. Itâs very small (about 10 seats inside and about the same outside) but well organized, clean and colorful. If you canât find something to drink here you have a problem. The walls are made colorful by a huge assortment of sake, wine, mead and soft drinks (US and foreign made). The sushi menu is solid but limited. You will not find the pages normal to some sushi places. You can enjoy classic favorites here in the heart of an area you wouldnât expect it. Oh, the prices are very reasonable. I had Philadelphia roll and a California roll and the bill was just over $14. You might pay close to that for one roll at other places. I saw one comment about paper plates in another review. I didnât see any paper plates but I could see a reason why they might have to. Like I said the restaurant is very small so that means limited storage. They have quite a few wooden serving blocks on which to present your food. However, I could see during a very busy time that because of lack of storage other means could be used to give you food. The chef was constantly cleaning and efficient at what he did. While they werenât overly talkative they were friendly and it seems to be a married couple who run the place. If you are a tourist, this place is so reasonable by any standard. If you are a local this place should have your business. Unless hours change for summer they are closed Mon-Wed and close at 8 when open.

Ate at Saisaki Thu 09/06/2018 around 5pm. Our cost before tip: $56.18 which we thought was fair value. This is a Certificate of Excellence restaurant.Saisaki was near our hotel so we looked forward to a good Asian Food night. Restaurant had good signage and plenty of parking. We were the only customers in their large restaurant as we were led to a comfortable booth/table. This made us nervous. Service was quick and attentive throughout the meal.The menu had good variety and a large selection of sushi. I started with an Egg Drop Soup $1.50 which was horrible. Then had a Seafood Treasure $19.00 that contained a variety of fruits of the sea, but was very average. For desert Red Bean Ice Cream $3.00 was very good. Topped it off with 3ea Singha Beers @ $3.00 each (Happy Hour). Wife went with House Lo Mein $10.00 which she thought was uninspired. Also had a Spinach with Garlic dish $5.00 which we both thought was very good. Finished with a green tea $2.00.Bottom line: Great service in an attractive restaurant, but we were a bit disappointed in the food. Lots of restaurants in the area. We'll probably try one of them next time.

Twice we went, twice we were satisfied! The staff is gracious, polite and accommodating. Alyse recognized us the second time which made it even more special. We loved their Yama Roll Combo, so many choices and they adapted the rolls to our taste (in our case, no mayo!). The fish is fresh. the ambiance is relax and the staff is stellar. Highly recommend!

A friend introduced us to Wonderful Restaurant about a year ago, and since then it has become out weekly date night restaurant, as well as the place we take family and friends when they visit. The menu is full of wonderful choices; Japanese and Korean dishes, as well as the best sushi we have had in the US. The prices are very reasonable and the customer service is outstanding. This is a small restaurant, not good for large groups (6 plus), but the low key atmosphere is one of the reasons we love coming here.

Seeing very few reviews since my last one, 7 months ago, and a few of these being average, I felt another 5 star one was warranted. The clear mushroom soup is great. The Tuna tartar appetizer is also great. Their Sushi and Sashimi lunch plates are not only excellent, but also a mid-day bargain at less than $10, with soup or salad included. Their sushi rolls are interesting, and the presentation of each dish is special. Our favorite waitress, Anne, always makes our visits special. Most of the staff is friendly and good.
